Food Write For Us: Guest Post Guidelines

Yes, this blog accepts food guest posts, but about the food business, not recipes. Readers run or market restaurants, food brands and hospitality businesses. The accepted pieces cover margins, footfall, delivery economics and how a food brand gets noticed. Recipes and press releases get declined. Pitch a real trade story from inside hospitality, with the numbers and the mistakes included.

Worth reading next: #1 the lilach bullock show.

Most food content is either a recipe or a press release. If you run a food business, market one, or know the hospitality trade from the inside, there is a real gap for what you know.

I’m Lilach Bullock. This blog reaches business owners, marketers and agencies. Some run restaurants, food brands and hospitality businesses; many more market them. They care about margins, footfall, delivery economics and how a food brand gets noticed.

What We’re Looking For

Content that helps a business owner make a decision they will not regret:

  • How a food or drink brand got its first thousand customers
  • Restaurant and hospitality marketing that actually filled tables
  • Delivery platforms: the real economics after commission
  • Food ecommerce, subscriptions and DTC brands
  • Menu pricing and margins, explained properly
  • Local marketing for food businesses
  • Food photography and content that drives orders rather than likes

Real numbers beat adjectives. If you can show what a campaign cost and what it returned, we want it.

Also accepting guest posts on small business and digital marketing.

What We Don’t Accept

  • Vendor marketing with a byline on it
  • Content published elsewhere
  • Affiliate round-ups with no real testing behind them
  • Anything written purely for a link, with no value to the reader

What You Get

  • Exposure to an engaged audience of business owners and marketers
  • A quality backlink from an established domain
  • Author bio with a link back to your website
  • Social media promotion across our channels

How to Submit

All guest post submissions go through our main submission page. Please read the full guidelines first:

What a strong food pitch looks like

The pitches that get accepted here come from people who have actually done the thing, not people summarising what other people have written about it.

A weak pitch says “I would like to write about restaurant marketing tips.” A strong one says “We cut our delivery platform dependence from 70 percent of orders to 30 percent in a year. Here is what we did and what it cost us to do it.” One is a brochure. The other is worth reading.

The angles that get accepted fastest

  • A real food brand launch with the budget and the mistakes
  • Delivery platform economics after commission, with actual figures
  • How a restaurant filled midweek covers
  • Building a subscription food business
  • Local SEO and marketing for a single-site food business

Frequently asked questions

How long should a guest post be?

Long enough to answer the question properly and no longer. In practice that is usually 1,200 to 2,000 words. Depth matters far more than word count.

How long does a decision take?

We aim to come back to you within a few working days. If the pitch is specific and clearly written, that decision is much faster.

Can I include a backlink?

One contextual backlink to your own site or a relevant resource is fine in an editorial post. More than that reads as link-driven rather than reader-driven.

I go much deeper on this in the content marketing guide.
