The background remover is the one people hit first. If your business sells products, that alone is often the reason to upgrade. The CMYK export matters if you send designs to a commercial printer, because printers usually ask for print-ready files.
How Canva's free AI allowance works
This is the part most guides skip. Canva pools its AI tools into a shared monthly allowance. On Free, you get up to 20 uses of Standard AI tools or Premium AI tools, and no access to Ultra AI tools. My advice
Start on Canva Free and use it for a real month of work. Watch which wall you hit first: if it's the background remover, print-ready export or scheduling, that's a real business reason to pay. If you only bump into the premium stock library, you can usually work around it with your own photos. And keep an eye on the AI allowance, because 20 uses go quickly once you start resizing and rewriting every design.
