Twitter (X) Analytics Not Working? Where Analytics Moved and How to Read Them (2026)

X (formerly Twitter) analytics is not broken, it has moved and changed. The old analytics.twitter.com dashboard is gone. Basic post stats now sit under each post's engagement icons, and deeper analytics require Premium. If you cannot see numbers, check you are on the app, on a paid tier, and looking in the right place.

Why your Twitter analytics seem to have disappeared

If you have gone looking for Twitter analytics and found nothing, you are not doing anything wrong. X (formerly Twitter) shut down the old analytics.twitter.com dashboard some time ago. That page used to give everyone, free or paid, a right overview of impressions, engagement rate, top posts and follower growth over time.

That standalone dashboard no longer exists. Typing the old web address into your browser will not bring it back. This is the single biggest reason people search for analytics not working. It is not a bug on your account, it is a discontinued feature.

So the question is not really how to fix analytics. It is where the replacement lives and what you can see now.

Where basic post analytics live now

Basic numbers on individual posts have not gone anywhere. Every post you publish still shows view counts, and if you tap or click on a post, you can see likes, reposts, replies and bookmarks broken down.

On mobile, open a post you have written and look below the text. You will see a small bar chart or view count icon alongside the usual reply, repost and like icons. Tap that view count and you get a short breakdown of engagement for that specific post.

This is per post data, not an account wide dashboard. If you want to check how one tweet did, this is where to look. If you want trends across weeks or months, you will need more than this basic view.

What requires a paid X subscription

Fuller analytics, including account level engagement trends, follower growth charts and more detailed breakdowns, sit behind a paid X subscription. Free accounts get the basic per post numbers described above and not much else.

I will say plainly what I know and will not guess at what I do not. X has tied richer analytics to its paid tiers, and the exact depth of data included can change without much notice. If you are on a free account and cannot find a dashboard, that is expected, not a fault.

If analytics matter to your business, decide whether the paid tier is worth it based on how much you use the numbers to change what you post, not because a dashboard alone feels like good practice.

How to check what you currently have access to

  1. Open the X app or site and go to your profile.
  2. Tap or click on any post you have published.
  3. Look for the view count and engagement icons beneath the text.
  4. Check your account settings to see if you have a paid subscription active, since this affects what analytics you can see.
  5. If you have a paid tier, look within your account or profile settings for an analytics or creator section, as placement has shifted before and may shift again.

This short check tells you within a couple of minutes whether you are missing analytics because of your subscription level or because you are looking in the wrong place.

Reading the numbers you do get

Views tell you how many times a post was shown. This is not the same as how many people read it or cared about it. Treat views as reach, nothing more.

Engagement, meaning likes, reposts, replies and bookmarks, tells you more about whether content landed. A post with modest views but strong engagement relative to those views is often more useful to learn from than one with huge views and little reaction.

Bookmarks are worth watching closely. People bookmark content they intend to come back to, which usually signals real value rather than a quick reaction.

Do not compare raw numbers across very different post types, such as a text post against a video. Different formats get shown and consumed differently, so the comparison will mislead you.

Third party tools if you need trend data

If you need right trend analysis over months, and you are not on a paid X tier or find the built in view limited, third party social media analytics tools can pull some data via approved connections.

I am not going to name specific tools here or promise features, because access and pricing for these tools change and depend on X's own rules for data sharing, which have tightened over the past couple of years. Check any tool's current terms directly before relying on it.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

What I can say plainly is that no free workaround will fully replace what the original analytics.twitter.com dashboard offered. That level of detail for free is gone.

What to do if analytics still will not show at all

Sometimes the issue is not a missing feature but a technical fault. Log out and back in. Update the app to the latest version. Try the same check on a browser instead of the app, or vice versa.

Clear your browser cache if you are using the web version and a page seems stuck or blank. This fixes more display issues than people expect.

If none of that works and you are on a paid tier that should include analytics, contact X support directly. Do not assume it is your fault or your account's fault before ruling out an actual outage or bug on their end.

The short version

Twitter analytics are not broken in the way most people fear. The old dashboard closed, per post stats moved under each individual post, and deeper trend data now sits behind a paid subscription.

Work out which situation applies to you first. Then decide whether the numbers you can access are enough for what you need, or whether it is worth paying for more.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I find the old Twitter analytics dashboard?

Because it no longer exists. X (formerly Twitter) discontinued the standalone analytics.twitter.com dashboard, so typing in the old address will not work. Post level stats moved under individual posts instead.

Do I need to pay to see Twitter analytics?

Basic per post view and engagement counts are free. Fuller account level trends and follower growth data sit behind a paid X subscription. Exact features can change, so check your current plan directly.

Where do I see how many views a single post got?

Open the post on the X app or site and look beneath the text near the reply, repost and like icons. Tap the view count for a short breakdown of engagement on that post.

Is it normal for analytics to look blank or not load?

Sometimes, yes, due to app bugs. Try logging out and back in, updating the app, or switching between browser and app. If it still fails on a paid account, contact X support directly.
