A domain authority checker scores a website from 0 to 100 on the strength of the sites linking to it, which predicts how well it can rank. Type any domain below to get its authority score, referring domains, total backlinks and spam score from a live link index, free and without signing up. Use it to compare your site with competitors, vet a guest post target, or check a site that wants to sell you a link.
How to use the score
Run your own domain first, then the three sites that outrank you for the keyword you care about. If their scores sit far above yours, the gap is links and you will not close it with content alone. If the scores are close, the gap is the page, and that you can fix this week. For guest posting, I use it as a floor: below about 20 with few referring domains, a link is worth little; the useful range is 30 to 60 with hundreds of referring domains.
The link picture is only half of it. Check what a domain earns from search with my free website traffic checker, and see the full referring domain breakdown, link types and countries with the free backlink checker.

Frequently asked questions
What is a domain authority score?
A prediction of how well a domain can rank, built from the number and strength of the sites linking to it. It is a comparison tool between sites, not a Google metric: Google has never used DA or DR.
Why is my score different from Moz or Ahrefs?
Each provider runs its own link index and its own scale. This checker uses a live index of backlinks scaled to 0 to 100. Compare sites within one tool, never across tools.
What is a good domain authority?
For a small business site, 20 to 40 is normal, 40 to 60 is strong, and above 60 usually means a national brand, a big publisher or years of link building. Referring domains matter more than the single number.
How do I increase domain authority?
Earn links from sites that could never pay you to link, such as press, industry bodies, partners and research citations, and publish pages people reference. Buying links is the fastest way to lose the score.
Is this checker free and unlimited?
Free, no sign-up. Results are cached for 30 days and a capped number of fresh lookups run each day, so a very busy day may ask you to come back tomorrow.
