If you want to get amazing results in your business, your life and your relationships you need to put in amazing effort, yes? This is something that I think a lot of people fail to realise and actually it is the fundamental basic level of everything, you get back what you put in.
If you want to earn 5 figures per month then you have to work at a level that will attract that money. You need to do more work than everybody else who is happy earning 1-2K a month. While they may be sending out 1 or 2 emails a day to potential new contacts you need to send out 10. Where they may be having 1 sales call a day you need to have 10.
The more you put in the more you will get out.
It’s not complicated to understand the concept, and its not really hard to decide that you’re going to do it and make a start. What is difficult is keeping it up.
There is nothing glamorous about putting in 10 times as much effort as the next person. While they are out with their family at the weekend having dinner with friends and taking their children swimming you’ll be working on your business, writing emails and following up leads. You’ll feel as though you’re doing too much, letting your family down and not living the life that you want to live.
But I think that’s OK. Keep going.
But only keep going if your goal is big enough to be really important to you. What you might discover when you start to put in maximum effort is that you actually don’t really want your goal as badly as you thought you did.
Maybe 5K a month is enough for you, if that means you can take weekends off to be with your family. It all depends on what you want to achieve and how badly you want it.
I don’t think that there is much in life that will be handed to you on a plate. I really believe that hard work, huge amounts of effort and taking risks are what will get you the big rewards that you deserve. Nothing massive ever came from small amounts of effort.
If you decide that you do want to achieve huge things then you are going to need to get good at being outside of your comfort zone. And not just a little bit outside, but so far outside of your comfort zone that you can’t even see it any more!
You’ll need to develop a thick skin and a one track mind. You can’t afford to be distracted and allow yourself to take just a little bit of time off. I suggest that you work out a reward scheme so that its not all work and no play, maybe Sunday afternoons are your 100% guaranteed downtime for you to spend with your family.
Or perhaps it’s really important for you to have Friday night free, or to pick your children up from school every day. Pick the one non negotiable time that you will have away from your business and then when you are at work give it 100%, and then a little more.
You’ll be surprised at what you can achieve when you go all in for 3 months. Try it and let me know.
