Big Action = Big Results
If you want to get amazing results in your business, your life and your relationships you need to put in amazing effort, yes? This is something that I think a lot of people fail to realise and actually it is the fundamental basic level of everything, you get back what you put in.
If you want to earn 5 figures or more per month then you have to work at a level that will attract that money. You need to do more work than everybody else who is happy earning enough to pay their bills. While they may send out 1 or 2 emails a day to potential new contacts you need to send out 10. Where they may have 1 sales call a day you need to have 10. Where they perhaps follow up once with a potential client you know that you need to follow up until you get a definite yes or a no. (and actually many people donโt follow up at all which is leaving so much money on the table)
Itโs a simple fact that the more you put in, the more you will get out. The bigger you want your business to be, the bigger the actions you need to take.
Itโs not complicated to understand the concept, and its not really hard to decide that youโre going to do it and make a start. What is difficult is keeping it up and actually doing it. Maintaining good daily habits might start out easy but after a week or a month youโll be tempted to slip back into old routines – and this is why businesses fail.
There is nothing glamorous about putting in 10 (or even 100) times as much effort as the next person. While they are finishing work at 5pm every day youโll be staying at your desk and working on your business, writing emails and following up leads. Youโll feel as though youโre doing too much, not getting the results you want and struggling with your work / life balance.
But I think thatโs OK. Keep going.
But only keep going if your goal is big enough to be really important to you. What you might discover when you start to put in maximum effort is that you donโt really want your goal as badly as you thought you did.
Itโs common for people to have huge goals that they are working towards (which is great) but whether or not you can handle the journey that youโll need to take to get you there is a different question. Most people are prevented from reaching their goals because they just canโt handle the journey, the commitment and the dedication that it takes to get there. Itโs a bit like wanting to be thin, you might want to be a few kilos lighter but the journey of having to cut out all the foods that you love, exercise is painful for many people.
Maybe paying your bills is enough for you, if that means you can finish work on time and not have to work weekends. It all depends on what you want to achieve and how much you really you want it.
I donโt think that there is much in life that will be handed to you on a plate. I really believe that hard work, huge amounts of effort and taking risks are what will get you the big rewards that you deserve. Nothing massive ever came from small amounts of effort.
If you decide that you do want to achieve huge things then you are going to need to get good at being outside of your comfort zone. And not just a little bit outside, but so far outside of your comfort zone that you canโt even see it any more!
Youโll need to develop a thick skin and a one track mind. You canโt afford to be distracted and allow yourself to lose sight of your goals.
Youโll be surprised at what you can achieve when you go all in for 3 months. Are you brave enough to try?
