Yes, TikTok Shop is live in Ireland, but it opened exclusively to businesses and shoppers based in Ireland. Sole traders need to be at least 18 with an EU-issued ID, and companies must be registered where they operate.
Ireland got its own TikTok Shop later than some countries and earlier than many. If you're an Irish business wondering whether to sign up, or a creator wondering whether the shop can pay you, the answer starts with a detail that surprises people: the launch was for Irish businesses and Irish shoppers only. Everything below follows from that.
Launch: Irish businesses and Irish shoppers only
TikTok's own newsroom announced that TikTok Shop opened in Ireland in December of 2024, and it described the shop as open exclusively to businesses and shoppers based in Ireland. It also said 2.2 million people in Ireland use TikTok monthly, quoting its internal data from October of 2024. Three Irish brands were named as selling from launch month: Chapters Bookstore in Dublin, Cocoa Brown and The Smooth Company.
The newsroom post doesn't give seller fees, commission rates or the full eligibility list, so I'm not going to fill those gaps with guesses. What it does say is that Irish businesses register through the TikTok Shop Seller Center, and that there's an Ireland version of the TikTok Shop Academy covering getting started, the affiliate platform and policies.
The Irish business-trust partnership
At launch TikTok partnered with a national Irish scheme that works as a symbol of trust for doing business in Ireland. Members get extra support, including training, events and account managers. The useful detail is that non-members can still register, so you don't need the membership to sell.
Registering: the EU rules that cover Irish sellers
Ireland shares its seller policy with seven other EU locales: Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. That page doesn't set separate Irish rules, so what follows applies across the group.
- Sole traders must be at least 18 and hold a valid EU-issued passport or national ID card.
- Legal entities must be registered in the country where they operate, with an EU-issued ID for the business representative.
- Your bank account has to be from an EU institution, and the name must match your ID or company.
- Proof of address means an unredacted bank statement or utility bill dated within the last 3 months.
- Stock has to be stored in the country where you registered.
Registered companies give the register's name and number, plus a VAT number, and TikTok can ask for the names and dates of birth of directors and holders of 25% or more of the shares or control. Sole traders give VAT or tax details where they apply.
Checks that delay a listing
You can't list anything until TikTok Shop has verified your details, and it may use a third-party provider to do so. Sole traders and company representatives may need a liveness check, done either through a third-party service or a TikTok Shop video. Every new shop then goes through a Shop Probation Period. If TikTok flags wrong information, you have 7 calendar days to correct it.
Import VAT and customs duties are your liability as the seller, which matters if any of your stock arrives from outside the EU. That's one for your accountant, because I can only describe what the policy says.
Shop names and euro payments
An Irish shop name can run to 40 characters. It can't be changed in the first 30 calendar days, and after that you can change it once every 30 calendar days. It can't include the word TikTok or unauthorised brand names.
The currency is the euro. The newsroom says checkout runs through trusted third-party payment platforms, but I couldn't find a TikTok page spelling out Irish settlement timing, so check your seller centre for the cycle on your account.
Irish creators and the affiliate side
The affiliate programme is commission-based. Creators earn by sharing products in short videos and LIVE streams, and sellers pick an affiliate plan to suit their brand. The Creator Academy's shop overview adds that affiliate creators don't need to hold inventory, and that these earnings are for people aged 18 and over.

Two limits are worth knowing. The Creator Rewards Program isn't open in Ireland, because it covers only the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. And TikTok's Earn abroad feature, which lets US-based creators sell to shoppers elsewhere, lists Ireland as a new market from September of 2026, so an American creator can promote to Irish shoppers even though they don't live here.

What I'd do first as an Irish seller
Start with your paperwork rather than your products. Get the ID, address proof and bank statement lined up, because the verification step is where most delays happen. Then read the restricted products policy for your category before you buy stock.
If you want to see how another live market handles registration, my piece on TikTok Shop registration in Vietnam shows a stricter, citizen-only model. And for the video side, I've covered what YouTube pays per thousand views in Ireland, which is useful if you're building a creator income across more than one platform.
