Yes, TikTok Shop is live in Vietnam, but individual sellers must be Vietnamese citizens aged at least 18 and companies must be registered in Vietnam. Creators need at least 1,000 followers to join the affiliate side.
Vietnam is one of the places where TikTok Shop isn't a rumour or a pilot. It's a working shop channel with its own seller site, its own registration rules and a lot of local competition. If you're asking whether you can sell there, or earn as a creator, the answer depends mostly on one thing: who you are on paper. Here's what TikTok's Vietnam pages say.
How big is TikTok Shop in Vietnam?
I always like to know whether a channel is worth the paperwork before I start on it. According to Metric.vn, as reported by e27 in a report published in 2026, Vietnam's e-commerce market reached 16.3 billion US dollars in GMV in 2025 across Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Tiki. That's a figure for four platforms together, so it doesn't tell you what any one seller earns, but it does tell you TikTok Shop sits among the big four.
It also appears on TikTok's official region menu for sellers, next to Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia. So there's no question about availability. The real question is eligibility.
Vietnamese citizens and Vietnam-registered companies only
TikTok's Vietnam registration guidelines split sellers into two groups. Individual sellers must be Vietnamese citizens aged at least 18. Corporate sellers must be entities registered in Vietnam, and one verified business can register up to 5 seller accounts.
That's stricter than some people expect. A foreigner living in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City can't register as an individual seller under those guidelines, and TikTok's general registration rules add that you must live in the country you choose for your shop. If you're based abroad and hoping to sell into Vietnam, this local route isn't the one for you.
Anyone under investigation, or subject to enforcement action by a trade or consumer protection authority, is barred. That includes schemes TikTok describes as multi-level marketing, Ponzi or pyramid schemes.
ID card, chip and bank name: where applications stall
Individual sellers submit a government-issued Identity Card showing both sides, valid at submission and for as long as the shop trades. The name on the card has to match the TikTok Shop account name, and the bank account name has to match the card too. TikTok's creator policy for Vietnam goes further and asks Vietnamese nationals for the 12-digit chip-embedded CCCD, verified with an NFC scan on a phone, with a tax code that matches the CCCD number.
Corporate sellers send business licences or registration documents that were valid at submission, plus a business bank account in the entity's name. The legal representative's name has to match the account and the ID documents, and TikTok may ask for details of the people who own or control the business.
Image quality causes more rejections than people admit. TikTok asks for PNG or JPG files that are colour, unobstructed and legible, and it won't take angled, blurry, black-and-white or cropped screenshots. Two-sided documents should be combined into one file, and file names shouldn't contain special characters.
Picking a shop name that gets approved
This is the unglamorous part, but it trips up a lot of new shops. A Vietnam shop name can be at most 40 characters. It can't name rival platforms such as Shopee, Lazada or Amazon, can't include a phone number, a web address or '.com', and can't be a bare generic word like 'Shop' or 'Store'. Brand names need written permission from the brand owner, and words such as 'Flagship' and 'Authorized' are prohibited.
Earning as a creator in Vietnam
If you'd rather promote other people's products than hold stock, TikTok Shop affiliate earnings let creators aged 18 and over collect a reward on items sold through their videos and LIVE streams. Vietnam's policy sets a floor of at least 1,000 followers and a minimum age of 18, and it excludes accounts belonging to government bodies, politicians or political parties.

Commerce content has to follow the Community Guidelines, and creators must disclose advertising or affiliate relationships where the law requires it. The page doesn't publish a commission rate, so I won't guess one. Ask the sellers whose products you promote what they offer.
Dong, payouts and tax: what's documented and what isn't
The local currency is the Vietnamese dong, ISO code VND, issued by the State Bank of Vietnam. I couldn't open a TikTok page that spells out the settlement currency or payout timing for Vietnam, so I won't tell you how many days it takes or what fee applies. The seller centre will show your own terms once your shop is approved. For tax, ask a local accountant, because the guidelines only say which tax details TikTok collects.

Before you apply, a short checklist
- Check your ID card is current and the name matches your bank account letter for letter.
- Decide whether you're registering as an individual or a business, because you can't easily swap later.
- Draft three shop names that follow the 40-character rule and avoid rival platform names.
- Photograph every document flat, in colour, with all four corners visible.
- Read the live guidelines on the day you apply, as TikTok says it updates them.
If you want to compare Vietnam with a country where the rules look very different, I've written about why TikTok Shop isn't an option in India. And for a look at what short video pays across the region, my guide to what TikTok pays for half a million views in the Philippines is a useful cross-check.
