How Much Does YouTube Pay per 1,000 Views in Ireland?

YouTube doesn't set a rate per 1,000 views in Ireland; what you earn (your RPM) depends mostly on whether your viewers are in Ireland, the UK, the US or elsewhere, plus your niche and ad formats. The Republic of Ireland is on both YouTube Partner Program lists, and earnings are paid in euros by EFT or wire once your AdSense balance reaches 70 euros.

Irish creators have a quiet advantage on YouTube: you make videos in English, so your work can find viewers in the UK, the US, Canada and Australia as easily as at home. That reach is what shapes your earnings per 1,000 views far more than the fact that you're based in Ireland. YouTube doesn't publish an Irish rate, but it does publish who can join, how you're paid in euros and how to read your own numbers. Let's go through it.

Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland? Check which list you're on

YouTube's Partner Program availability list names the country as the Republic of Ireland, and lists the United Kingdom as a separate entry. That small detail matters if you're near the border. A creator living in Dublin, Cork or Galway sets up as Ireland and is paid in euros. A creator living in Belfast or Derry sits under the United Kingdom, which YouTube treats as a different country with its own payment setup in pounds sterling.

Both are fully open for the Partner Program, so neither side loses out. Just make sure the country on your channel and in AdSense matches where you live, because YouTube's eligibility rule is based on residence.

The two Irish milestones: 500 and 1,000 subscribers

Ireland is also on YouTube's expanded Partner Program list, which brings an earlier first step:

  • At 500 subscribers, with 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days and either 3,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months or 3 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days, you can apply for fan funding: channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, plus Shopping.
  • At 1,000 subscribers, with 4,000 qualified watch hours in 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, you can add a share of ad revenue.

For a smaller Irish channel with a close community, such as local sport, Irish language content or trades and crafts, fan funding can start paying well before ads do.

Euro payouts from AdSense to an Irish bank

Your YouTube money flows through an AdSense for YouTube account. YouTube's payment table shows two options for Ireland: EFT and wire transfer, with no cheques and no Hyperwallet. EFT is the one I'd pick. It drops your earnings straight into your bank account, and because Ireland is on Google's SEPA list, they arrive in euros.

When you add your account, Google sends a test deposit of between 0.15 and 1.10 euros. Look for it on your statement after 2 to 5 days and enter the amount in AdSense to confirm it's yours. Ireland is marked as test deposit required, so don't skip this step.

Euro threshold in AdSenseAmount

Payment threshold (minimum payout)70 euros
Cancellation threshold10 euros

AdSense works on a monthly rhythm. The previous month's earnings are finalised on the 3rd. If you're over 70 euros and your details are in by the 20th, the payment is issued between the 21st and the 26th, and an EFT can take up to seven business days to land.

What moves an Irish channel's RPM

YouTube calls your earnings per 1,000 views RPM, revenue per mille. It's what's left after YouTube's revenue share and it includes ads, memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and YouTube Premium revenue. It counts all your views, monetised or not. CPM is the advertiser's cost per 1,000 ad impressions before the revenue share, so it always looks higher than RPM.

Here's why two Irish channels with the same views can earn very different amounts:

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  • Audience location. Because you're making English-language content, a lot of your views may come from outside Ireland. Advertisers pay different amounts in each country, so the mix of Irish, UK and US viewers changes your RPM month to month.
  • What you talk about. Money, property, careers and software attract more advertisers than general vlogs.
  • How you publish. YouTube lists mid-roll ads on longer videos, monetising every eligible video and switching on memberships or Super Chat as ways to lift RPM.

Your real figure is in YouTube Studio, under Analytics and then Revenue. Pair it with the Geography report to see which countries are doing the heavy lifting.

US tax info for Irish-based creators

With an English-speaking audience, US viewers are likely to be a meaningful share of your views. YouTube asks creators outside the US to submit US tax info, and it says withholding on US viewer earnings then ranges from 0 to 30% depending on tax treaties. Ireland is on the IRS list of US income tax treaties. Without the form, YouTube's default for individual accounts is 24% of total worldwide earnings.

That's what YouTube documents, not tax advice. For your own position with Revenue in Ireland, talk to an Irish accountant.

Growing Irish YouTube income beyond AdSense

Most of the Irish creators earning well combine ad money with brand partnerships, affiliate links and their own products or services. If you'd like to compare notes with other euro-area creators, I've covered YouTube payouts in Spain with a step-by-step bank route, and the French version of this question, where overseas departments have different rules. And if you're stuck for a format, these faceless YouTube channel ideas work well for English-language audiences.

Frequently asked questions

Is the YouTube Partner Program available in Ireland?

Yes. YouTube lists the Republic of Ireland on its Partner Program list, and Ireland is also on the expanded programme list, so you can start with fan funding at 500 subscribers.

Are creators in Northern Ireland treated as Ireland by YouTube?

No. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, which YouTube lists as a separate country with its own payment setup.

What's the YouTube minimum payout in Ireland?

AdSense lists a payment threshold of 70 euros. Your balance carries over until it reaches that amount.

How much does YouTube pay for 1,000 views in Ireland?

YouTube doesn't publish an Irish figure. Because Irish channels often have viewers in the UK and the US, your RPM depends heavily on that audience mix, your niche and your ad formats.

How do Irish YouTubers get paid?

Through AdSense for YouTube by EFT or wire transfer. Ireland is on Google's SEPA list, so EFT payments arrive in euros after a one-off test deposit check.
