A good SERPRobot alternative depends on the question you're asking: where a page sits for one keyword today, or what Google measured for your whole site. Some options are free software or plugins, some come free from Google or an SEO suite, and some are small hosted trackers with a trial. Ten follow in no particular order.
If you've been using a free on-demand checker and now want history, more keywords or a different view of your site, the ten options below each take a different route.
SERPRobot itself isn't in this list. Every description below comes from the vendor's own website or help page, read as of Nov 2026.

Google Search Console
Best for: Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting your site's presence in Google Search results, straight from Google, as its help page puts it.
Morningscore
Best for: Bloggers who want daily rank updates on the keywords they add, plus brand visibility in Google AI Overviews for each one.
Rank Math
Best for: WordPress site owners who'd like keyword rankings tracked inside the same plugin that handles their on-page SEO modules.
Rankinity
Best for: Checking where your keywords sit in Google quickly, when a one-off answer matters more than a long history.

SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker
Best for: Tracking keywords in any search engine with a tool its page calls free, part of a kit with WebSite Auditor and SEO SpyGlass.

SERPFox
Best for: Small sites starting free, with daily ranking checks and a look at what AI assistants are saying about the brand.
Whatsmyserp
Best for: Keeping a history of positions that refresh daily, so you can look back at how a page moved over time.
A free checker and Google's report answer different things
SERPRobot's own page says its on-demand SERP checker is 100% free, or you can create an account. Google's Search Console help page, read as of Nov 2026, describes Google Search Console as a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor, maintain and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results.
Both are free, but they don't answer the same question. A checker looks up where a page appears for a keyword you type in. Google's report tells you what Google itself measured for your site. One is a spot check. The other is a record.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Google's free report shows what Google measured for your site, and a checker or tracker watches the handful of keywords you care about most.
Plugin, installed, hosted or straight from Google
- Free from big names. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools gives verified sites a free view of the keywords they rank for, and Google's own report sits alongside it.
- Inside WordPress. Rank Math tracks keyword rankings inside a WordPress SEO plugin, so there's no separate login.
- Software you run yourself. SEO Panel is free software you download and install.
- A free tracker in an SEO kit. SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker, which its page calls a free SEO rank tracker, sits alongside WebSite Auditor and SEO SpyGlass.
- Quick checkers. Rankinity is built for fast position checks in Google.
- Small hosted trackers. Morningscore, Seobility, SERPFox and Whatsmyserp track positions for you on a schedule, some with a free start and some with a free trial, and a few add AI Overview or AI assistant checks.
Before you pick a checker
- One-off or ongoing. If you check a few keywords now and then, a free checker is enough. If you want to see movement over weeks, you need a tracker that keeps history.
- Your own site or anyone's. One free toolset here is for verified sites. A checker looks up where a page appears for any keyword you type in.
- Install or log in. Plugins and installed software live on your own site or server. Hosted tools just need an account.
- Search engines. Most people only need Google. If Bing or Yahoo matter to you, check which tools say they cover them.
- AI answers. If you'd like to know whether AI Overviews or AI assistants mention you, look for a tool that says it tracks them.
- Free terms. Free plans and trials change, so check the vendor's site on the day you sign up.

Little tests worth running in week one
- Check one keyword you already know well and see whether the result matches what you see in a private browser window.
- Add your five most important keywords and come back a week later to see the history.
- Compare what Google's report shows for a page with the checker's result for the same keyword.
- See how easily you can export your data if you move again.
- Note whether the tool needs your login, your plugin space or your server.

My advice if SERPRobot was your free checker
Treat a free checker and Google's own report as two different tools, not rivals. Set up Google's report first, because it's free and shows what Google measured for your whole site. Then pick a checker or small tracker for the few keywords you watch closely. If you're on WordPress, a plugin keeps it in one place. If you'd rather not install anything, a hosted tracker with a free start or trial is the easy route.
Don't chase every keyword. Pick the ten or twenty searches that bring you customers and watch those. That's where the useful signal is.

Frequently asked questions
What's a good free alternative to SERPRobot?
It depends on the job. Google's own report is a free service from Google, a few tools here have a free plan or free software, and some hosted trackers offer a free trial, as of Nov 2026.
Is Google's report enough on its own?
For many small sites, it's a good start. It reports what Google measured for your site. A checker adds quick lookups for specific keywords and pages.
Do I need to install anything?
Not always. One entry is free software you download and install, and one is a WordPress plugin. Check each vendor's own site for how the others are set up.
Is there a rank checker that works inside WordPress?
Yes. One entry here is a WordPress SEO plugin that tracks keyword rankings inside the plugin.
Do any of these check AI answers too?
A few pages here mention tracking AI Overviews or what AI assistants say about a brand, as of Nov 2026. Check the vendor's site for the details.
Why does a checker show a different position from Google's report?
They measure different things. A checker looks up one search at one moment, while Google's report covers what Google measured for your site.
