Best Google Rank Checkers (2026): 11 for Lookups and Tracking

The best Google rank checker depends on what you'll do with the answer. A one-off lookup shows where a site sits for a few keywords right now, a tracker saves your keywords and updates them on a schedule, and some suites tuck rank checking inside a wider SEO toolkit. Decide which of those you need, then compare tools.

Search for a rank checker and you'll find three different kinds of product wearing the same label. Some are a single page where you type a domain and a few keywords. Others are dashboards that check the same keywords every day. And some are one feature inside a much bigger SEO suite.

This list covers eleven tools for checking where a site ranks in Google, using only what each maker's own website says, read on 2 Nov 2026 (as of Nov 2026). It's alphabetical and in no particular order. There are no accuracy or user numbers here: it's about what each tool does with your keywords.

Lookup, tracker or suite feature?

Here's the split that catches people out: 'rank checker' means different things to different makers. SERPRobot's page title reads 'google ranking check', a lookup you can run on demand. Keyword.com calls itself a 'keyword rank tracker and AI visibility tracker'. SEO PowerSuite promises to 'track unlimited keywords in any search engine' from software you download, and Pro Rank Tracker leads with 'daily SEO & AI rank tracking & reporting'.

Those are three different jobs. A lookup answers one question today. A tracker answers the same question every day and keeps the history. A suite feature sits beside audits, keyword research and reports. So group your shortlist by what you'll do with the result, not by the word on the tin.

  • One-off lookup: type a domain and a few keywords, see the positions, done.
  • Daily tracking: save a keyword set, get updates on a schedule, keep the history.
  • Suite feature: rank checking alongside audits, keyword research and client reports.

To feed the positions into your own reports, look at SERP APIs.

A quick one-off position check

If you only want to know where a page sits right now, a single tool page is enough. Small SEO Tools says to enter 'the domain name, keywords and search engine' and click its Check Position button. SEO Review Tools lists a rank checker among dozens of tool pages, beside a keyword tool and a website SEO checker.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Mangools SERPChecker is a slightly different lookup. It's built for SERP analysis rather than your own positions: its page says it 'helps you find the weak spots of your competitors', with localised results and SERP features for the keyword you type in. That's useful before you write a page, not just after.

For a business with a shop front, you can also track your map position.

Daily tracking for a site you look after

Once you're checking the same keywords every week, a tracker saves time. Tiny Ranker says it 'removed the expendable and kept the things that help you make decisions to get the job done', which suits a site owner who doesn't want a busy dashboard.

At the agency end, Advanced Web Ranking says you can send white label reports automatically by email, or share a permalink to a report that updates with every ranking update. It also lists integrations with Google Looker Studio, Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Rank checks inside a wider toolkit

Some products here aren't rank checkers first. rankingCoach calls itself 'the complete Digital Marketing App for small businesses' and says no prior knowledge is required, with SEO, local listings, web reputation and social media monitoring in one place. Rankwatch sells itself as 'One SEO Platform', with a rank tracker beside competitor analysis, keyword research and a site auditor.

If you're a small business owner who'd like to be told what to do next, a guided app makes sense. If you're an SEO who wants positions, competitors and audits under one login, a platform is the better fit. Either way, the rank check is one part of the package.

What to decide before you check a ranking

  • Do I need a one-off answer, or the same keywords checked every day?
  • Is this for my own site, or for clients who'll want reports?
  • Do I need desktop and mobile positions, or just one?
  • Which country, city or language do my customers search in?
  • Do I need search engines beyond Google, such as Bing or YouTube?
  • Do I want AI search visibility tracked alongside Google rankings?

Do you make a Google rank checker or rank tracking tool? Tool makers can ask to be considered for a featured place on this list.

My advice for checking where you rank

Match the tool to the question. If you just want to see where a page sits today, a single lookup page is enough, and you don't need an account for a quick look. If you're watching the same keywords for weeks, pick a tracker with daily updates and history. And if you report to clients, shortlist the tools that list white-label reports, then try two of them on the same keyword set before you commit.

If you're still deciding which keywords deserve watching, read my guide to tracking keywords as a small business, and for the bigger question, here's whether keyword tracking improves SEO.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a rank checker and a rank tracker?

On these makers' own pages, a checker is a lookup: you enter a domain and keywords and see the positions now. A tracker saves your keywords and updates them on a schedule, daily on several pages here, with reports and history. Some suites include both.

Can I check rankings on mobile as well as desktop?

Yes, on several of these. One keyword position page has a desktop or mobile switch, one dashboard lists phone, tablet and desktop results, and one downloadable app lists desktop and mobile position tracking.

Which of these track AI search as well as Google?

Several say so on their own pages. One is titled keyword rank tracker and AI visibility tracker, one lists daily SEO and AI rank tracking, and one lists AI search visibility across Google's AI Mode, AI Overviews and AI platforms such as ChatGPT.

Which of these suit a small business owner with no SEO experience?

One is a digital marketing app for small businesses that guides you step by step with video tutorials and says no prior knowledge is required. Another describes keeping only the things that help you make decisions.

Can I track rankings outside Google?

Some makers say so. One lists YouTube, Amazon, Baidu and Naver, one lists Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube, and one downloadable app says it can check any alternative search engine ranking.

Which of these produce reports for clients?

Several list white-label reporting. One sends reports by email or as a permalink that refreshes with each ranking update, one lists white-label client reports, and one sends monthly Google ranking reports by email.
