Instagram doesn't publish an income figure for 10 million followers, and it doesn't publish a rate per follower or per view either, so any rupee number you've seen for that size is somebody's guess. What Instagram does publish is which tools an Indian account can switch on and how payouts work, and as of November 2026 India is named on both the Gifts and the Subscriptions country lists.
That's the useful part. At 10 million followers you're past every follower minimum Instagram sets, so the question stops being "am I big enough?" and becomes "which tools have I switched on, and is my payout account ready to receive the money?" This page walks through each one using Instagram's own Help Centre and creators.instagram.com, read on 1 November 2026.
Why no follower count comes with a price tag
None of the Instagram pages I read gives a rate per view, per reel or per follower. Each tool pays on its own terms instead. Gifts pay a fixed share for every Star a viewer sends. Subscriptions pay the price you set. Badges pay the fixed badge prices. Bonuses pay on performance, but only if you're invited. Brand deals pay whatever you and the brand agree.
So two accounts with 10 million followers each can earn completely different amounts. One might have Gifts, Subscriptions and a steady run of brand deals. The other might have nothing switched on and no payout account at all, which means it earns nothing from Instagram's tools, however big the audience is.
Every tool an Indian account with 10 million followers can use
Here's the full set, with Instagram's own minimums and what each one pays, as of November 2026:
| Tool | Minimum followers | What it pays | India on the list? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gifts | 500 | A revenue share equal to one cent per Star received | Named on the Gifts list |
| Subscriptions | 10,000 | The price you set for subscribers | Named on the Subscriptions list |
| Badges on Live | No follower minimum on the badge pages | Badges bought in $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99 increments | The badge pages I read show no country list |
| Bonuses | Not published | Paid on the performance of reels and photos, amounts not published | Invite-only |
| Brand deals | Not set by Instagram | Whatever you and the brand agree | Paid Partnership label rules apply |
The Gifts row is the one most people miss. It's the only per-unit money figure Instagram publishes for creators: viewers buy Stars, send gifts on your reels, and Instagram gives you a revenue share equal to one cent for every Star received. To use it you need a professional account, you must be 18 or older, you have to follow the Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies, agree to the Gifts Creators Terms and have a payout account set up on Instagram.
Subscriptions add one rule worth knowing at this size: accounts that mainly post content focused on children aren't eligible, however many followers they have. If you'd like the general follower minimums for every tool in one place, my guide to Instagram's monetization tools and their minimums covers them.
The country lists, and who isn't named on them
India is named on both lists as I read them. So are Indonesia, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States, among others. Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines and Bangladesh aren't named on the Gifts list or the Subscriptions list as fetched on 1 November 2026.
That doesn't mean those countries are banned. It means they weren't on the list the page showed when I checked, and lists change. If you're in India and want the full eligibility picture beyond followers, I've written up who qualifies to earn on Instagram in India.
Bonuses: don't build a plan around them
Instagram's own words are that Bonuses "reward you for the performance of your reels and photos, including carousels and single image posts", and that they're "limited time and invite-only as we build toward a sustainable program." The Bonuses page publishes no amounts and no follower threshold.
So even a 10 million account can't count on a Bonuses invite. If one arrives, great. If it doesn't, nothing you can do on the page will make it appear, which is why I'd never put Bonuses at the top of a plan.
How the payout rules work in practice
Payouts cover badges, bonuses, gifts and subscriptions. These are Instagram's rules as of November 2026:
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- Minimum balance outside the US: $100 if you're paid by wire transfer, $25 for all other payout methods. In the US it's $5. Below the minimum, the balance carries over to the next payout.
- Payout dates: bonus payouts go out around the 7th and 21st of every month, for 2-week periods. Every other tool pays around the 21st, for the previous month.
- The 5-day hold: changing your payout details puts the account on a 5-day hold, so make changes at least 10 days before the payment date or the money slips to the next cycle.
- Arrival time: bank payouts take 1 to 7 business days, and international payouts can take up to 10 days to reach a bank or PayPal account.
- The cap without a payout account: you can earn up to $500 per monetization tool, with a maximum of $1,500 across 3 tools. If you haven't added a payout account within 6 months, you forfeit those earnings.
That last rule is the one that hurts big accounts. The more people are sending gifts and buying badges, the more sense it makes to close the gap now. My walkthrough on setting up an Instagram payout account has the steps, and you can check your balance any time under Professional dashboard, Tools, Payouts.
Instagram also says payouts can be delayed or rejected after suspicious or fraudulent activity, so keep your account details consistent and accurate.
Brand deals: the line Instagram won't price
For most large accounts, brand deals are the biggest earner. They're also the one line where Instagram publishes no rate card and no typical fee. Anyone quoting a figure for what a 10 million account charges is guessing, because it's whatever the brand and the creator agree.
What Instagram does publish are the rules:
- If you're paid in any form for your content, you need the Paid Partnership label.
- Some product categories can't be promoted at all, such as drugs and weapons, and some only with restrictions, such as alcohol.
- No pre-roll, mid-roll or post-roll ads inside videos or audio, and no banner ads in videos or images.
- Creator Marketplace is Instagram's way for brands to find creators to work with.
If you're comparing sizes, my page on Instagram income at 1 million followers in India shows how the same tools look at a smaller scale.
What I'd switch on first
- Set up the payout account, so nothing sits in the capped, forfeit-after-6-months pot.
- Switch on Gifts. It's open from 500 followers and India is named on its list.
- Add Subscriptions if your content isn't mainly focused on children.
- Go Live often enough for badges to matter.
- Use the Paid Partnership label on every brand deal and agree your fee in writing.
My verdict: I'd set up the payout account and Gifts first, and skip waiting on a Bonuses invite. At 10 million followers the tools are all open to you; what you earn depends on which ones you've switched on and what brands agree to pay, not on the follower count itself.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Instagram pay for 10 million followers in India?
Instagram doesn't publish a figure for any follower count, and it gives no rate per follower or per view. Earnings come from the tools you switch on, such as Gifts, Subscriptions and badges, plus brand deals you agree yourself.
Is India eligible for Instagram Gifts and Subscriptions?
Yes. India is named on both the Gifts and the Subscriptions country lists as of November 2026. Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines and Bangladesh aren't named on those lists as fetched.
What's the minimum Instagram payout outside the US?
As of November 2026 it's $100 by wire transfer and $25 for all other payout methods. If your balance is below the minimum, it carries over to the next payout.
Can a 10 million account get Instagram Bonuses automatically?
No. Instagram says Bonuses are limited time and invite-only, and it publishes no follower threshold for them, so no account size guarantees an invite.
