How to Create Appealing Text Messages That Clients Will Love

Text messages are a quick and efficient way of cutting through the noise of social media. The medium helps companies build a relationship with customers. SMS communication goes straight to the client, but they won’t engage if the message doesn’t spark their interest. In this article, we look at what you should do to create texts that people will love receiving.

Solve a Problem

Businesses must remember that customers want to buy a product to solve an issue. Before sending out text messages, write out a few concise sentences that describe what the problem is and how your product solves it.ย

Try to keep it short, no more than two sentences. You can include a link to your company’s website, which opens on the page of the item you’re recommending.

Make it Personal

SMS marketing enables businesses to personalize messages and create a connection with customers. Recipients feel that they’re unique and not just another number on the mailing list.ย

People prefer to receive notifications that are addressed to them and are more likely to interact and move through the sales funnel.

Here are three ways you can make messages personal:

  • Use the customer’s first name
  • Refer to any recent activities that the receiver might have had with your company. For example, shipping updates, appointment reminders, or past purchases.ย
  • Customize messages to include geographical location. You can reference the local weather or special events in the area.

Create Excitement and Add Value

Any marketing campaign should have clear goals and objectives. It’s pointless to send out random communication that doesn’t serve a purpose. Keep your messages short but provide a value exchange in your texts with a call to action.ย

Think of campaigns that’ll draw your audience towards your brand by offering coupons or unique offers that are only available to your mailing list. With SMS marketing, you can target specific customer segments to create multiple offers that cater to different behaviors and demographics.ย

Add variety to your campaigns by switching up the offers, so your contacts don’t get bored with your messages.ย

Write for Scanners

The SalesForce SMS marketing experts say that according to statistics, the open rate for SMS messages is 98%. However, just because a recipient opens a text doesn’t mean that they will read it or act on your call for action.ย

Most people scan any communication they receive, which means if there aren’t headlines or keywords that draw them in, they’re unlikely to absorb the full message or interact. When writing your copy, remember to create a headline that instantly tells people what to expect.ย

The next step is to use subheadings or bolded sentences that make key information stand out.

Final Thoughts

SMS marketing is an effective way to communicate with customers and draw them into interacting with your brand. Predominantly people look for a solution to a problem, and through texts, you can explain how your company can help solve it.ย

Make sure to address your contacts by their first name to make it feel more personal. Create interest in your messages, and by using heading or bolded text, show clients how your brand brings value into their lives.ย
