To cancel NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV, go to tv.youtube.com, open Settings, then Membership, and click Remove next to NFL Sunday Ticket. If you bought it as a standalone channel on YouTube, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships, click Manage membership and then Cancel. A Season Pass can't be cancelled mid-season, so cancelling only stops it renewing next season, while Month-to-Month ends at your next billing date.
So the first thing to work out is which kind of Sunday Ticket you have, and where you bought it. Those two answers decide which button you press and what it does.
What cancelling does on each type of plan
| What you bought | What cancelling does |
|---|---|
| Season Pass, paid in one go | Stops next season's automatic renewal. This season carries on. |
| Season Pass, paid in instalments | Stops next season's renewal. You still pay the rest of this season. |
| Month-to-Month | Ends your access at your next billing date |
| Student Plan | Nothing to cancel. It's a one-time purchase that doesn't renew |
| Any plan while YouTube TV is paused | You can't cancel the renewal until you unpause |
YouTube is clear that it doesn't offer cancellations or refunds on a Season Pass once it's running, and Month-to-Month has no refunds either. Cancelling is about stopping future charges, not getting a refund.
Cancel the YouTube TV add-on
If Sunday Ticket sits on top of your YouTube TV plan, cancel the Season Pass renewal like this:
- On a computer or web browser, go to tv.youtube.com and sign in.
- Click your profile picture, then Settings.
- Click Membership if it isn't already open.
- Under Your Add-ons, click Remove next to NFL Sunday Ticket.
- Confirm with Yes, Cancel.
For Month-to-Month on YouTube TV, the steps are almost the same, but you'll find Sunday Ticket under Memberships rather than Your Add-ons. Either way, YouTube emails you a confirmation. Your renewal date is shown at tv.youtube.com/settings/subscriptions under the add-on, and YouTube sends a reminder email before a Season Pass renews.
Cancel the standalone channel on YouTube
If you bought Sunday Ticket on YouTube without YouTube TV (YouTube calls this a Primetime Channel), you cancel from a different page:
- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships.
- Under Memberships, click Manage membership next to NFL Sunday Ticket. On mobile, tap the arrow icon instead.
- Next to your next billing date, click Cancel and follow the prompts.
The same steps work for a Season Pass renewal and for Month-to-Month, and you'll get a confirmation email once it's done.
Why you can't cancel while YouTube TV is paused
This is the trap that catches people. YouTube says you can't cancel the Sunday Ticket renewal while your YouTube TV membership is paused. Unpause YouTube TV first, cancel the Sunday Ticket renewal, then pause again if you want to.
The other way round, cancelling YouTube TV altogether also cancels your Sunday Ticket renewal, because the add-on needs an active YouTube TV plan. If you only want to drop Sunday Ticket, cancel the add-on on its own. For more on how YouTube TV charges you, see this guide to YouTube TV billing.
Paying in instalments? You can clear it early, not walk away
Instalments on a Season Pass are a full-season commitment, so cancelling won't stop the monthly payments. What you can do is pay off the balance early:
- On YouTube TV, open Settings, then Membership, and click the Sunday Ticket add-on to expand it. On YouTube, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and click Manage membership.
- Find Current season balance remaining.
- Click Pay balance.
- Click Pay now on the confirmation screen. You should see that your balance is paid in full.
How Month-to-Month cancelling works in practice
Month-to-Month charges you on the same date each month and lets you cancel at any time. You keep watching until your next billing date. YouTube's own example: sign up on September 10 and you have access until October 10. Month-to-Month also won't renew into next season by itself, so you won't be charged again in September.
Two limits to know. You can't switch a Season Pass to Month-to-Month once you've bought it. And if you go the other way, from Month-to-Month to a Season Pass, you cancel your current membership, click Renew (on YouTube) or Add (on YouTube TV), and choose Season pass. It starts when your monthly period ends, and what you've already paid isn't taken off the Season Pass price.

Changing your plan instead of cancelling
Sometimes you don't want to quit, you want a different setup next year. YouTube says you can't change a purchase for the current season once it's made. To change things for next season, such as adding or dropping RedZone, or moving between the YouTube TV add-on and the standalone channel, cancel the auto-renewal and then buy the bundle you want.
Timing matters here. Once the auto-renewal payment has gone through, your plan can't be changed, so make the switch before the renewal date. If RedZone is the deciding factor, here's how RedZone works on YouTube TV.
Before you contact support
If something doesn't look right, YouTube's Sunday Ticket team takes calls on +1 833-389-2054 and runs live chat. Make sure you're signed in to the same Google account you bought Sunday Ticket with before you get in touch, or they won't be able to see your membership. For the current season and returning-user prices, see the NFL Sunday Ticket price guide.
My verdict
If you're on a Season Pass and you're not sure you'll want it next year, cancel the renewal now. It doesn't cut off this season, and it stops a full-price charge landing before the next one. Put a reminder in your calendar for the renewal date anyway, and if your YouTube TV is paused, unpause it before you try, or the cancel simply won't go through.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel NFL Sunday Ticket mid-season?

Can I get a refund on NFL Sunday Ticket?
YouTube says it doesn't offer refunds on a Season Pass, and Month-to-Month has no refunds either. You keep access until your billing period ends.
Why can't I cancel my NFL Sunday Ticket renewal?
If your YouTube TV membership is paused, YouTube won't let you cancel the renewal. Unpause YouTube TV first, then cancel.
Does cancelling YouTube TV cancel NFL Sunday Ticket?
Yes. YouTube says cancelling your YouTube TV membership also cancels your NFL Sunday Ticket renewal.
Can I switch my Season Pass to Month-to-Month?
No. Once you've bought a Season Pass, YouTube says you can't change it to Month-to-Month.
