Google AI Plus is Google's entry-level paid AI plan. On Google's US subscriptions page it costs $4.99 a month as of October 2026 and gives you 2x the Gemini usage of the free plan, access to the Flash model, 200 Google Flow credits, more Nano Banana in Search, Gemini in Gmail and Vids, and 400 GB of cloud storage.
It sits between free Gemini and Google AI Pro, and the gap to Pro is bigger than the price suggests. Plus doesn't include Gemini 4 Argon, Google's top model, and it doesn't come with the Pro extras like Jules, YouTube Premium Lite or 5 TB of storage. What Google AI Plus adds over free Gemini

The free plan already includes Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas and Gems, so you don't need Plus for those. You pay for more usage, a better model, storage and the creative credits.
What Plus leaves out (and where Pro starts)
This is where people get caught. Google's plan page marks only Pro and Ultra with Includes Gemini 4 Argon. The Search line tells the same story: the Plus card promises more access to Nano Banana in Search, while the Pro card promises higher access to Gemini 4 Argon, Nano Banana and agentic capabilities. So if you're buying Plus to get Google's best model, it won't do that.

For comparison, the Pro card's extras are practical rather than flashy: Google Home Premium on the Standard plan, with 30 days of event history and Gemini features, and YouTube Premium Lite, which Google describes as most videos ad-free, offline and in the background. If your household already pays for either, that narrows the real gap between Plus and Pro.
How Gemini usage limits work on Plus
Google says limits in the Gemini app are compute-based. They depend on how complex your prompt is, which features you use and how long your chat runs. Your limit refreshes every five hours until you reach a weekly limit, and you can buy AI credits to extend it. So 2x the free plan isn't a fixed number of messages: a long chat with uploads uses more than a quick question.
Where Google AI Plus is available
Google's US page says Plus is available in more than 160 countries and territories, a wider list than Pro or Ultra, and that some AI benefits are only for people aged 18 and over. Prices on this page are the US figures. If you're in the UK, Australia or Canada, check the plan page in your own country, because Google sets prices locally.
How to get Google AI Plus
- Go to Google's Gemini subscriptions page and choose Google AI Plus.
- Sign in with the Google Account you want the plan on. The storage is shared with that account's Gmail, Drive and Photos.
- Confirm the price shown for your country before you pay.
- Open the Gemini app and check the model menu shows Flash rather than Flash-Lite.
- Try Gemini in Gmail and Google Flow to see whether you'll use the extras.

Is Google AI Plus worth it for a small business?
If you mainly need more storage and a bit more Gemini, Plus is a sensible low-cost step, and the 400 GB alone covers a lot of small businesses. If you want the strongest model for writing, research or coding, skip straight to Pro, because Plus can't give you Argon at any price.
