The right Final Round AI alternative depends on whether you want more practice beforehand, mock interviews with a real person, interview prep inside a wider job search suite or a different live assistant. Many employers don't allow AI help during a live interview, so judge each tool on its practice and feedback as much as its live mode.
Before anything else, read the interview rules from the employer you're meeting. Final Round AI's main pitch is a copilot that listens to a live interview and shows suggested answers in a private window, and plenty of tools now do something similar. Many companies say AI help during an interview isn't allowed, and being caught can lose you the offer.
So this list takes a practice-first view. Here are eight alternatives in no particular order, grouped by what they're built around, with each one described by how it helps you prepare.
Employer rules come before any live assistant
Using a live copilot in an interview where the employer has said no is deceiving them, and it's a risk that can end the process. It's also unnecessary for most people. The practice and coaching modes that most of these tools include carry no such risk, because you use them on your own before the call.
Rules vary by company and by role, and some employers spell them out in the invite or the candidate guide. If they don't, ask the recruiter. If live help isn't allowed, the right tool for you is the one with the best mock interviews and the most useful feedback, and that's how I'd judge every option below.

| InterviewBuddy | Human plus AI mock interviews | Mock interviews with experienced professionals |
| LockedIn AI | Live copilot | Coding questions and coaching on laptop or phone |
| ParakeetAI | Live copilot | Talking out loud to an AI mock interviewer |
| Sensei AI | Live copilot | Structured answers with timing and formality settings |

Copilots, practice-first tools and human coaching
Live copilots with practice inside. ParakeetAI lets you run a mock interview out loud against an AI interviewer. Verve AI produces an interview report with a full transcript after each session. Sensei AI has timing and formality settings for structured answers. LockedIn AI includes live coaching and code solutions, on a laptop or a phone. These are sold mainly on their live mode, so use the practice side and stay within the employer's rules.
Practice and review alongside live help. Interview Copilot includes an Interview Coach on every plan, per its page, for rehearsal before the call. Interview Sidekick covers prep, real-time help and a review of how you did. AIApply runs simulated interviews with role-specific questions inside a wider job application suite, which suits people who want the whole search in one place.
Human plus AI. InterviewBuddy pairs one-to-one sessions with experienced professionals with AI practice and playback. A human interviewer notices things software misses: rambling, eye contact, an answer that's technically right but doesn't land.

My advice for interview preparation
Pick the tool you'll practise with most, not the one with the cleverest live mode. Good preparation means answering out loud, hearing the gaps and fixing them, and that's where these tools earn their keep. Look for realistic questions for your role, specific feedback and a transcript or recording you can review.

Never use a live assistant where you've been told not to, and never pass off its suggestions as your own preparation if you're asked. A strong performance you've rehearsed is worth far more than one you can't repeat once you're in the job.
A week of practice before the real interview
- Write down the five questions you're most nervous about and answer each out loud.
- Run at least two full mock interviews with an AI interviewer and read the transcripts.
- Book one session with a person if you can, because a human hears things software doesn't.
- Practise the answers people fumble: gaps in your history and why you're leaving your last job.
- Rehearse the technical setup: camera, sound, lighting and the meeting link.
- Get a good night's sleep before the day.

Frequently asked questions
Is it allowed to use AI during a job interview?
It depends on the employer. Many say AI help during an interview isn't allowed, and being caught can lose you the offer. Read the rules or ask the recruiter, and if in doubt, don't.
What's the difference between a live copilot and a mock interview tool?
A live copilot suggests answers during the real interview. A mock interview tool lets you practise beforehand and gives feedback. Practice carries no risk with the employer.
Are AI mock interviews as good as practising with a person?
They're convenient and you can repeat them as often as you like. A person picks up on delivery and body language better, so a mix of both works well.
How should I judge an interview practice tool?
Look at how realistic the questions are for your role, how specific the feedback is and whether you get a transcript or recording to review.
Can these tools help with coding interviews?
Some include code modes or technical questions. Practise with them beforehand, and check the employer's rules before using anything during the interview itself.
