AI interview prep tools help you practise answers, get feedback and rehearse under pressure before a job interview. They split, as of Oct 2026, into practice platforms, peer and expert mock interviews, and live copilots that suggest answers during a real interview, which an employer may not allow. Ten follow in no particular order.
Interview nerves are normal, and the fix has always been practising out loud. AI tools make that practice easier to get, but some of them work during the interview itself, and that's a very different thing from rehearsing beforehand.
The ten tools below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description comes from the tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Nothing here promises a job offer, because no tool can.

Practise before the day, or a copilot during the interview?
The tool pages draw a clear line. Huru is an AI interview practice platform, Pramp lets you practise live interviews with peers, Interviewing.io is anonymous coding and technical interview prep for software engineers, and Exponent covers interview prep for product, engineering and data science. Big Interview calls itself a job interview training platform, and Teal is a resume and job search toolkit with interview practice inside.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
The other four work during a real interview. Sensei AI is a real-time interview copilot, Final Round AI an interview copilot, LockedIn AI an AI interview assistant and meeting copilot, and Interview Sidekick an AI interview assistant for job interviews. If you're thinking about one of those, check the employer's rules first, because whether a live copilot is allowed is their call, not the tool's.
How AI interview practice works
- Simulators and question banks. You answer typical questions on camera or out loud, then review how you did.
- Conversational AI interviewers. The AI listens, asks follow-up questions and adapts, which is closer to the real thing than a fixed list.
- Peer and expert mock interviews. You practise with another candidate or with people who run interviews for a living, which suits technical roles.
- Feedback on delivery. Some tools comment on clarity and how you structure an answer, so you know what to change before the day.
- Live copilots. These listen during a real interview and show suggested answers on your screen. They're a separate category from practice tools.
Questions to settle before you pick an interview tool
- What kind of interview are you facing: behavioural, technical, a case study or a phone screen?
- Do you want to practise alone with AI, or with another person?
- Does it give feedback you can act on, not just a number?
- Does it cover your field, like engineering, product or sales?
- Can you practise in the language the interview will be in?
- If it works during live interviews, are you sure that's allowed where you're applying?

My plain advice on preparing for an interview with AI
Spend most of your time on practice tools before the day. Answering out loud, hearing a follow-up question and fixing a vague answer is what builds confidence, and a conversational AI interviewer or a peer mock interview gives you that. If you're going for a technical role, practise with people who run those interviews. Treat live copilots with care: they're a separate category, and whether you can use one depends on who's interviewing you.
Go in with good questions of your own, too. My list of questions to ask the interviewer helps with that.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI interview prep tool?
It's software that helps you practise for a job interview, usually by asking questions, listening to your answers and giving feedback on what to improve.
What's the difference between interview practice and an interview copilot?
Practice tools help you rehearse before the day. A copilot runs during a real interview and suggests answers on your screen while you talk.
Am I allowed to use an AI copilot in a live interview?
That depends on the employer and the interviewer. Some don't allow it, so ask or read their guidance before you use one.
Can AI help with technical interviews?
Yes. Some tools on this list focus on coding and system design, with AI interviewers or mock interviews run by engineers.
Are there free AI interview practice tools?
Several tools here let you start for free. Check each tool's own site for what's included before you rely on it.
Will AI interview practice get me the job?
No tool can promise that. Practice helps you answer more clearly and calmly, but the result still comes down to your experience and how the interview goes.
