6 Easy Team Building Activities That Don’t Suck

In order to boost morale and output in the workplace, team building exercises can do wonders. It’s crucial to have a group of people who get along well together, and what better way to do that than to have some fun together?

BUT the traditional team building activities such as paintball, clay pigeon shooting, and archery, can seem outdated for the dynamics of some workplace teams now, so companies are always looking for ideas that are a little โ€œoutside the boxโ€ for their organisations annual get togethers.

So, basically, in this article, we have focused on team building activities that donโ€™t suck!

Depending on the time of year you are planning your event, you may be quite confident to choose an outdoor team building activityโ€ฆ

Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are fantastic summertime team building activities because they require participants to think outside the box, work together, and communicate effectively. It encourages healthy rivalry, which may be a great source of inspiration for those trying to accomplish a common goal. In addition, it’s an outdoor activity that provides a healthy dose of fresh air and exercise for the whole team.

Raft Building

Raft building is a fun and demanding outdoor exercise that also emphasizes the value of teamwork. In this activity, teams must work together to build a raft out of various components (rope, wood, etc.) and navigate a body of water. When the boats are finished, the teams can take them for a spin to discover which one is the most efficient. Participating in an activity that requires individuals to work together to succeed ultimately increases the bonds between them. However, if something unfortunate happens and the team encounters legal issues, looking for a lawyer is necessary to ensure that all legal matters are appropriately addressed. So, not only does raft building promote teamwork and bonding, but it also highlights the importance of being prepared for any potential setbacks.

Obstacle Course

Outdoor obstacle courses are a fun way to bond with coworkers. Participants are encouraged to use their teamwork skills to complete the course’s various mental and physical challenges. The obstacles on an obstacle course might range from those suitable for smaller children to those more suitable for older people. You may set up a series of tyres that teams of two or three must step into in tandem, or you could have individuals perform a series of agility and balancing tasks, such as walking planks, that need them to do so with great care.

Kayaking or Canoeing

Paddling in a kayak requires coordination and cooperation from its participants in order to move in the same direction and avoid hazards. Kayaking is an exciting and novel way to experience nature throughout the summer months.

Geocaching

Geocaching is a terrific way for groups to bond while getting out and experiencing nature. A GPS gadget or smartphone can help teams find “caches” placed anywhere from park lawns to wooded areas in this exciting interactive game. Caches can only be located if team members work together to analyze clues and coordinate their search. As groups work together to decipher clues and solve location challenges, geocaching promotes teamwork and problem-solving abilities in addition to being a fun way to get outside and see the world.

If youโ€™d prefer to stay indoors, then these team building activities may be more up your streetโ€ฆ

Escape rooms

A fun and cutting-edge team-building activity are escape rooms! Your group’s challenge is to beat the clock and successfully exit the room by working together. Beyond the thrill and enjoyment, escape rooms offer an exceptional opportunity for team bonding. Moreover, you can explore the world of virtual escape rooms for remote teams. You might be curious about how online escape rooms work and whether they can match the excitement of in-person ones. The answer is yes! The only distinction is that you’ll be playing on platforms like Zoom or Google Meets, while the core concept remains unchanged. Players must decipher clues to make their way out of creatively themed rooms. Whether you opt for an in-person or online experience, your team is in for a fantastic time as they collaborate and tackle challenges together.

Mystery Dinners

Invite your team to a great meal together with a mystery to solve. Mystery dinners provide intrigue, excitement, and several opportunities for socialising. You could even provide rewards to the first person to solve the mystery or design unique medals for everyone’s participation to make it unforgettable. Activities that improve team morale, such as mystery meals, foster bonds between coworkers.

Improv Classes

An highly entertaining and engaging team-building activity can be taking an improv class! Everyone’s ideas are encouraged in improv training, and everyone must cooperate to make a successful scene. Additionally, it’s a terrific method to observe how various personalities get along while communicating, ensuring that everyone is respected and heard, and being aware of everyone’s needs.

Cooking Classes

Working together directly in the kitchen can foster collaboration and foster a positive environment. While conversing deeply with one another and picking the brains of seasoned cooks, participants pick up new recipes, methods, and advice. Additionally, culinary workshops showcase many cultures and cuisines, offering a special way for groups to connect over a shared love of food. With so many advantages, it’s understandable why cooking classes are becoming more and more popular for business events.

Sharing a presentation of a famous west end musical, can be a great bonding experience, you could even opt for a sing-along showing to make it an interactive experience.
