YouTube doesn't publish a fixed rate per 1,000 views in Spain; your RPM depends on where your viewers live, your topic and your ad formats, and you can see it in YouTube Studio. Spain is on both YouTube Partner Program lists, and your earnings reach a Spanish bank in euros by EFT or wire once AdSense shows at least 70 euros.
Spanish creators often ask me two things in the same breath: how much YouTube pays per 1,000 views, and how the money gets from Google to their Spanish bank. The first has no fixed answer, and I'll explain why. The second is far more concrete, and getting it right saves you weeks of waiting for a payment that's stuck. So I'll start with the money route and come back to the rate.
Is YPP open to creators in Spain?
Yes, twice over. Spain is on YouTube's main list of places where you can sign up for the YouTube Partner Program, and it's on the expanded programme list as well. The expanded route lets a Spanish channel apply with 500 subscribers, 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days and either 3,000 qualified watch hours over 12 months or 3 million qualified Shorts views over 90 days. That opens memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and Shopping. Ad revenue sharing follows at 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views.
One note for anyone living just over the border: Andorra doesn't appear on YouTube's Partner Program list. YouTube's rule is about where you live, so check the list against your own residence rather than your language or audience.
From AdSense to a Spanish bank, step by step
Every YouTube payout passes through an AdSense for YouTube account linked to your channel. In YouTube's payment method table, Spain has two options: EFT and wire transfer. Cheques and Hyperwallet aren't offered there.
- Choose EFT if you can. It deposits your earnings straight into your bank account in your local currency. Spain is also on Google's SEPA list, so your earnings arrive in euros.
- Expect a test deposit. Google lists Spain as test deposit required. A small amount of between 0.15 and 1.10 euros appears on your statement after 2 to 5 days, and you enter it in AdSense to confirm the account.
- Know the wire alternative. YouTube says you don't need to verify your account for wire transfers. AdSense says to allow up to 15 business days for a wire to complete, against up to seven business days for EFT.
- Mind the 20th. Any change to your payment details must be in by the 20th. Google says that if you set SEPA EFT after the 20th, it can't guarantee paying you by SEPA that month.
The euro thresholds and monthly timing
| Stage | What AdSense documents |
|---|---|
| Payment method threshold | 10 euros |
| Payment threshold | 70 euros |
| Cancellation threshold | 10 euros |
| Earnings finalised | On the 3rd, for the previous month |
| Payment issued | Between the 21st and the 26th |
If your balance hasn't reached 70 euros by the 20th, it simply rolls into the following month. Nothing is lost; it just waits.
Why Spanish channels see such different RPMs
RPM, revenue per mille, is what you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube's revenue share. It includes ads, memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and YouTube Premium revenue, and it counts every view, including the ones that didn't show an ad. CPM is the advertiser's price per 1,000 ad impressions, measured before YouTube's share, which is why it's always the bigger number.
Spanish-language creators have an unusual situation. Your videos can travel across Latin America and to Spanish speakers in the US, and each of those audiences comes with its own level of advertiser demand. Two Spanish channels with the same views can earn very different amounts simply because one is watched mostly in Spain and the other mostly elsewhere. That's why I'd never trust a single Spain figure quoted online.
To find your own number, open YouTube Studio, choose Analytics and then the Revenue tab. Compare it with the Geography report and you'll see which countries pull your RPM up or down. YouTube lists turning on monetisation for all videos, adding mid-roll ads and enabling memberships or Super Chat as ways to raise it.
What YouTube says about tax for creators in Spain
YouTube asks creators outside the US to submit US tax info in AdSense. It says withholding on earnings from US viewers then ranges from 0 to 30%, depending on whether your country has a tax treaty with the US, and Spain is on the IRS list of US income tax treaties. Leave the form blank and YouTube's default for individual accounts is 24% of everything you earn worldwide.

More income routes for Spanish YouTubers
Ad revenue rarely carries a Spanish channel on its own. Brand collaborations, affiliate links, online courses and memberships often matter more, especially in a focused niche. My faceless channel ideas include formats that travel well across Spanish-speaking audiences. If you're comparing euro-area payouts, my guide to what YouTube pays creators in France covers the same SEPA route plus the different rules for the French overseas departments.
