Wispr Flow Review: The Free Plan and What Pro Adds

Wispr Flow is a voice-to-text app that turns speech into polished writing in any app on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, and it suits writers and founders who'd rather talk than type. The catch, as of Oct 2026, is the Notetaker: free has limited access, and unlimited Notetaker sits on the Growth plan.

Wispr Flow is the dictation tool people keep mentioning, so a lot of you want to know if the free plan is enough. I read Wispr Flow's pricing page, its homepage and its help article on team plans, and the free plan's more generous than most, with one exception.

Wispr Flow plans compared

Pro amounts are in the currency the page showed, US dollars, as of Oct 2026. Check the vendor's pricing page before you buy; your checkout currency may differ, and I've left Growth's amounts out because the page shows more than one.

Wispr Flow's Notetaker limit, and two smaller surprises

The free plan is a real product, not a trial. You get dictation in any app, 100+ languages, on all four platforms, plus a dictionary and snippets. What's capped is the Notetaker. Free lists "Limited Notetaker access", Pro gives you "Longer Notetaker history", and it's only on Growth that you see "Unlimited Notetaker access". If meeting notes are why you're here, that's the line to read.

A pricing page notice also offers teams full Notetaker access at no extra cost through November 30, after which members move to a limited plan. Wispr says it won't increase the price automatically afterwards. Handy for a test, but don't judge the Notetaker by that window alone.

Second surprise: Pro lists "Unlimited dictations" as an upgrade, which suggests the free plan has a dictation cap. The page text I read doesn't give the number, so check it before you rely on free for daily writing.

Third, currency. Wispr Flow's help article says checkout currency follows your connection's location and falls back to US dollars when it can't be determined. It also says desktop team cards show seats rather than a price. So the number you see may not match the one in this table. The monthly and annual toggle matters too: Pro is 15 dollars on the monthly view and 12 dollars on the annual view, and the page advertises a 20% annual discount.

What Wispr Flow does

Wispr's homepage line is "Don't type, just speak." It's voice-to-text that turns what you say into clear, polished writing in whatever app you're in. It learns your names and jargon, keeps a dictionary and snippets, and lets you use your meeting notes in Claude and ChatGPT. Wispr makes its own claims about how much faster speaking is than typing; I'd treat those as its marketing rather than a promise.

Teams get a shared dictionary and snippets, a shared workspace, central billing, usage analytics and priority support on Pro. Growth adds SSO, HIPAA enforcement with a signed BAA, multiple domains, admin control over model training for the whole team and individual usage reporting. If you're comparing dictation with transcription, my roundup of AI transcription software covers recorded audio rather than live typing.

Who Wispr Flow suits and who should skip

  • Writers, founders and anyone who drafts a lot and would rather talk than type, in every app.
  • People on more than one device: free covers Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android.
  • Teams who want a shared dictionary and central billing on Pro.

My verdict on Wispr Flow

I'd start on the free plan, because it covers dictation on every device you're likely to use and costs nothing. If you hit the dictation cap or want team features, Pro is the step up, and the annual view is the one to look at if you're staying. I'd skip it, or plan on Growth, if unlimited meeting notes are the whole point, because that's where Wispr puts them.
