How Much Does Weight Watchers Cost? Core, Core+ and Med+

As of October 2026, Weight Watchers costs as little as $12 a month for Core and $22 a month for Core+ on a 12 month plan. Med+, the GLP-1 programme, is $25 for your first month, then $74 a month for the rest of a 12 month plan, with medication costs extra.

Weight Watchers prices everything on commitment. The headline 'as low as' figures are based on a 12 month plan, and every plan auto renews at the end of its term unless you cancel. Here's what each tier costs, what it includes, and the renewal rule people miss.

Weight Watchers prices at a glance

Med+$25 for the first month, then $74 a month12 month planAccess to GLP-1 medication and clinical support
Med+ on a 6 month plan$25 for the first month, then $84 a month6 month planA shorter Med+ commitment

Weight Watchers says the cost of GLP-1 medications isn't included in Med+. Medical services are provided through its affiliated medical group, WeightWatchers Clinic, and medications require eligibility and a prescription, so not everyone will qualify.

The renewal rule to know

Every Weight Watchers plan auto renews. Core and Core+ renew yearly at the same rate unless you cancel. Med+ plans auto renew for another 12 month or 6 month period at the same monthly rate at the end of each term, which means $74 a month on a 12 month plan or $84 on a 6 month plan, not the $25 first month offer.

Because the prices assume a full term, treat Weight Watchers as a yearly purchase, not a monthly one. Put the end date of your plan in your calendar the day you join.

Support tailored to diabetes is included on all three. Core members can attend Workshops for free for their first two weeks, in participating areas only.

What you're paying for: the Points program

Every plan is built on Weight Watchers' Points program, which turns complex nutrition data into one simple number per food. You spend your Points how you like and track them in the app. Weight Watchers says the program can be customised in the app for situations such as living with diabetes or breastfeeding, and there are no 'good' or 'bad' foods, just more and less nutritious ones.

Joining takes three steps: pick a membership, sign up for a tailored plan based on your body, lifestyle and goals, then start tracking. If you're curious about medication, Weight Watchers offers a quiz to check whether you're eligible for Med+ before you commit.

Registered Dietitian visits

Core+ and Med+ include access to Registered Dietitians, but Weight Watchers notes that copays, coinsurance and deductibles may apply, with cash pay options available. Medicare beneficiaries aren't eligible for Registered Dietitian visits.

Which Weight Watchers plan should you choose?

  1. If you want the Points program and you're happy working on your own, Core is the cheapest way in.
  2. If you know you do better with a coach and a group, Core+ adds unlimited Workshops for $10 a month more than Core.
  3. If you're taking, or want to take, a GLP-1 medication, Med+ adds the clinician team, but remember the medication itself costs extra.
  4. If you're not sure you'll stay a year, weigh the 6 month Med+ term against the 12 month price before you sign.

If you're comparing programmes, see what you get on the Noom free trial, and if you only want to track food, MyFitnessPal and its alternatives are a simpler option than a coached plan.

The verdict

Weight Watchers costs from $12 a month for Core and $22 for Core+, with Med+ at $74 a month after a $25 first month. The prices are reasonable for what's included, but only if you'll stay for the whole term, because that's what they're based on. My advice: choose Core unless you know you need Workshops, read the Med+ terms twice if you're considering medication, and diary the renewal date so a second year doesn't start without you deciding.
