Factor Meals Review: Ready-to-Heat Meals for Busy Weeks

Factor is a ready-to-heat meal delivery service: chef-prepared, dietitian-designed meals arrive fresh, never frozen, and Factor says they're ready in about 2 minutes. You pick meals from a weekly menu, with plans such as Keto, High Protein, Max 550 kcal and Pescetarian, and you can skip, pause or cancel. It suits busy people who want real lunches and dinners without cooking. Two catches: changes close at a weekly cut-off, and meals aren't certified gluten-free.

When work takes over, lunch is often the first thing to go, which is where a prepared meal service can help. This review is built from Factor's own homepage, plans and FAQ pages. I haven't eaten my way through a Factor box for this page, so I've kept to what Factor states and the questions that decide whether it fits your week.

How Factor works

  1. Choose your meals from Factor's rotating weekly menu.
  2. Factor delivers them fresh, never frozen, fully prepared.
  3. Keep them in the fridge and eat them before the best-before date on each label.
  4. Heat and eat: Factor says meals are ready in about 2 minutes.
  5. Skip a week, pause or cancel from your account settings, before the weekly cut-off.

Notice the menu numbers don't match across Factor's own pages: its homepage talks about 100+ rotating weekly meals, while its FAQ page says 35 weekly pre-made meals plus 60+ add-ons. Check the live menu for your ZIP code before you sign up, because that's the menu you'll choose from.

Meals across the day

Factor isn't only dinners. Its homepage splits the menu by moment: protein-packed breakfasts, nutrient-rich lunches, afternoon snacks and protein-forward dinners, plus smoothies and add-ons. It describes the food as chef-crafted, using high-quality proteins, vegetables, whole grains and fresh herbs. Factor also mentions a 2025 randomised controlled trial in which 120 participants ate Factor meals for lunch and dinner over 24 weeks, and it notes that this was a general Factor study, not a GLP-1-specific one. It's Factor's own study, so read the details on its site before you treat it as a reason to buy.

The small print that matters

Two lines on Factor's plans page are worth reading twice. First, you can cancel any time through your account settings, but once an order has been processed after the weekly cut-off, it can't be changed or cancelled for that week, and if you want to cancel your first box you need to contact customer care. Second, most meals are made without ingredients containing gluten, but they aren't certified gluten-free and are prepared in facilities that handle gluten, so Factor says they're not recommended for people with coeliac disease or severe gluten sensitivity.

Who Factor suits

  1. Founders and freelancers who skip lunch when the day gets busy.
  2. People following a high-protein or lower-calorie plan who don't want to cook it.
  3. Households where one person eats differently from the rest.
  4. Not a fit if you need certified gluten-free food or like to cook from scratch.

My verdict on Factor

For a busy week, ready-to-heat meals that arrive fresh are a sensible way to stop living on toast, and the choice of plans makes it easy to match how you eat. Put the weekly cut-off in your calendar so you never get a box you forgot to skip, and if gluten is a medical issue for you, look elsewhere. Start with a single week and see whether you eat every meal before you commit.
