Metricool is a social media planning and analytics tool that suits one-brand creators who want to start free and agencies who'll pay by the number of brands. The catch, as of Oct 2026: the free plan leaves out LinkedIn and Twitter, caps scheduling at 20 posts a month and keeps 30 days of analytics.
Metricool comes up when you've outgrown posting by hand and want one place to plan, publish and read the numbers. I read Metricool's own pricing page and homepage to see what each plan gives you and where the limits sit, because the free plan is generous in some places and tight in others.

These are the figures Metricool's pricing page showed as of Oct 2026. The page has two toggles, Annual (save up to 24%) or Monthly, and euros or dollars, so note which view you're looking at and check the pricing page before you buy.
Where the free plan stops, and why brands set the bill
The free plan reads well until you get to the words in brackets. It lets you manage all your brand's social networks except LinkedIn and Twitter. If you're a consultant, a coach or a B2B business, LinkedIn is often the network that brings the work in, and on Metricool's free plan it isn't there. LinkedIn connection is listed on Starter, an X add-on is available from Starter, and complete Twitter/X analytics only arrives on Advanced. Add the 20-post monthly cap and the 30 days of analytics, and Free is a good way to test the tool, not a home for a business that posts daily.
The second thing people miss is that Starter and Advanced are priced in steps by the number of brands. In the dollar view, Starter is 20 dollars a month for up to 5 brands and 36 for up to 10. Advanced is 53 dollars for up to 15 brands and 85 for up to 25. In the euro view the same steps read 16 and 29 euros on Starter, then 43, 69 and 130 euros on Advanced, the last for up to 50 brands. If you run social for clients, count your brands before you look at the headline figure, because that count picks the plan for you.
What Metricool does across your networks
Metricool's homepage sums it up as a way to plan, measure and manage your social media in one tool. The networks named in its menu are Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Twitter, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Scheduling and analytics are the core, and competitor analysis is on every plan, from 5 profiles on Free to up to 100 on Starter.
Paid plans add reports you can export as PDF or PPT, multiple link-in-bio pages, Flows, and Google Drive and Canva integration, plus limited access to Campaign Dashboards and Metricool Studio on Starter. Advanced is where the agency tools sit: team and client management, role management and a post approval system, along with customizable report templates, a Data Studio connector and the Metricool API for Zapier and Make. Even the free plan lists an AI social media assistant and Metricool MCP.

Who Metricool fits, and who'll hit a wall
It's a good fit for:
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- Solo creators and small businesses with one brand who want scheduling and analytics without paying anything at the start.
- Agencies and freelancers who manage several brands and want the price to step up with the client list.
- Teams that need post approval and roles, which arrive on Advanced.
You'll struggle if:
- LinkedIn or X is your main network and you want it on the free plan. Neither is included there.
- You need more than 30 days of analytics history without paying. Unlimited history starts on Starter.
My verdict on Metricool
I'd start on Metricool's free plan if you run one brand on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or Pinterest and want to see scheduling and analytics side by side before spending anything. I'd go straight to Starter if LinkedIn matters to you, because the free plan leaves it out. If you manage clients, I'd count brands first and pick the step that fits, and I'd only move to Advanced when you need approvals, roles and full X analytics. I'd skip it if you want LinkedIn and X covered for free: that's not what this free plan is for.
