Nine times out of ten it is one of three things: you changed the posting pattern, the last two or three Reels had a weak first two seconds so completion fell, or you reposted content with a watermark. Check the retention curve in Insights first; if the drop is at the start, the hook is the problem, not the algorithm.

What size and length should a Reel be in 2026?
1080 by 1920 pixels (9:16), exported at 30 frames a second, under 90 seconds for reach and under 30 for the highest completion. Instagram compresses everything, so start from the highest quality file you have.
Why do my Reels look blurry after uploading?
