HubSpot Sales Hub: Prospecting, Deals, Quotes and Forecasts Explained

HubSpot Sales Hub is HubSpot's sales software for finding prospects, working deals through your pipeline and forecasting revenue, and many of its tools are free. The more advanced features sit in three paid editions, which HubSpot's US page lists from $10, $100 and $175 a seat each month as of October 2026.

Here's the catch, and there are two parts to it. Starter's $10 figure is a discount for new customers, displayed next to $20 and offered for a limited time, so don't treat it as the long-term price. And the clever bits need history to work: HubSpot says conversation intelligence and predictive lead scoring may take time to gather insights, so they won't do much on your first day. HubSpot also notes its prices are subject to applicable tax. All of this is from the US page; buyers in the UK, Australia and Canada will see their own local pricing.

Who Sales Hub is built for

Sales Hub is aimed at anyone whose job is booking meetings and closing deals: a founder doing their own selling, a small sales team, or a growing team with a manager who needs a forecast. HubSpot says it works best paired with its Smart CRM, but you can also run it alongside the CRM you already use.

Sales Hub plans side by side

EditionPer seat a month, as of October 2026Headline features HubSpot lists
Free$0Deal tracking, an AI assistant, meeting scheduling without the back-and-forth
Starter$10 (displayed next to $20)Spotting customers who are ready to buy, prospecting with AI, automatic data enrichment
Professional$100Playbooks for every conversation, AI-powered revenue forecasting
Enterprise$175Deal and quote approvals, organising users across several levels, control over who can see and edit data

The free tier is more useful than it sounds for a one-person sales operation: you can track deals and let people book meetings with you without a chain of emails. Professional is where forecasting and playbooks arrive, and Enterprise is about approvals and permissions for bigger teams.

Prospecting and the AI agent

Prospecting is where HubSpot has put the most new AI. The page describes:

  • AI that surfaces accounts showing buying signals.
  • A prospecting agent that finds accounts, sources the buying committee, runs personalised outreach and learns from your best reps.
  • Multi-channel automated outreach that adapts to how each prospect engages.
  • Buying-committee mapping, so you can see the decision makers, champions and influencers in an account.

HubSpot says customers booked 82% more meetings with the prospecting agent. That's HubSpot's own figure, shown on its product page, so read it as the vendor's claim.

Calls, inbox and meetings

For day-to-day selling there's a power dialer, voicemail drops and automatic logging of calls to the CRM. HubSpot also runs inside Gmail or Outlook, and you can research a prospect from any webpage without switching tabs.

Meetings get the same treatment. Sales Hub can capture every meeting automatically, help you prep with the customer's context, and send follow-up recordings afterwards. Its conversation intelligence reads transcripts, emails and deal history, then suggests CRM updates and drafts follow-ups. That's the piece HubSpot warns needs time to build up insight, so expect it to get better the longer you use it.

Moving deals to close

The deal tools are where Sales Hub earns its keep for a small team. According to HubSpot:

  • Deal progression drafts follow-ups and suggests next steps.
  • AI scores and ranks the deals most likely to close.
  • Deal and pipeline management comes with tasks and reminders.
  • Mutual plans let you share milestones, owners and dates that the buyer can see too.
  • Smart queues and daily action summaries tell each rep what to do next.

The mutual plan is the one I'd point out. A shared plan the buyer can see stops a deal drifting because nobody's sure who's doing what. You can also build a library of sales content for the team and track which documents help close deals.

HubSpot says its customers closed 94% more deals after 6 months, again its own figure on the page.

Quotes through Revenue Hub

Quoting works a little differently. HubSpot says Sales Hub customers get CPQ (configure, price, quote) through Revenue Hub. Reps can generate a quote in one click from branded templates, with automated approvals and real-time buyer engagement, and you can quote, bill and collect payment in Revenue Hub. So if quoting matters to you, ask HubSpot how Revenue Hub fits into your plan before you sign.

Forecasts and pipeline reports

Reporting gives you a real-time view of pipeline health, deal plans, rep performance and revenue risk, plus AI-powered projections and forecasting software across the whole pipeline. Revenue forecasting is one of the headline features on Professional.

Using it with another CRM

You don't have to move everything to HubSpot to use Sales Hub. HubSpot says it works great with its own Smart CRM but can also sit alongside your existing CRM. If you're weighing HubSpot against the big name, this HubSpot vs Salesforce breakdown goes through the trade-offs.

Your first week setup

HubSpot says its customer success team gets you running in days or weeks, not months, and that email templates, deals and meetings are ready from the first login. Here's a sensible order:

  1. Start on the free edition and add your open deals.
  2. Connect Gmail or Outlook so emails log against contacts.
  3. Turn on meeting capture so calls are recorded and summarised.
  4. Try the prospecting agent on a small list of target accounts.
  5. Build a forecast view once a few weeks of deals have gone through.

My verdict

Here's my honest take. Sales Hub suits a small sales team that's already on HubSpot, because the deal tools, meeting capture and inbox logging all feed the same records. The free edition is a good place to run your pipeline while you find out whether you'll use the AI pieces. I'd be careful with two things. Don't budget on the $10 Starter figure, since HubSpot says that discount is for new customers and for a limited time. And don't judge the forecasting or conversation intelligence in week one, because HubSpot itself says they need time to gather insights. If you're comparing it with a simpler pipeline tool, read this HubSpot vs Pipedrive comparison, and if HubSpot doesn't feel right at all, here are some HubSpot alternatives worth a look.
