To see your comment history on TikTok, tap Profile, then the Menu button, then Settings and privacy. Scroll down to Activity center and select Comment history. It lists the comments you've posted, but video reply comments don't appear there, and you can delete a comment by opening the post and pressing and holding it.
Comment history is one of those features most people don't know exists until they want to find something they said months ago, or tidy up an old comment they regret.
Here's how to find it, what it leaves out, and how to delete from it. All of it comes from TikTok's Support article on comments, read in October 2026.
How to see your TikTok comment history
- In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
- Tap the Menu button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
- Scroll down and tap Activity center.
- Select Comment history to see the comments you've posted.
Activity center is the place to remember. It's also where TikTok keeps other records of what you've done, which is handy if you're tracing a video you watched or a post you deleted. For viewing history, see my guide on how to see your TikTok watch history.
What comment history doesn't show
- Video reply comments, the ones where you replied with a video, don't appear in the list.
- Mentions and tags in your old comments may not be clickable from your history.
- It's your comments only. Comments other people left on your videos live on the videos themselves.
How to delete comments from your history
- Open Comment history as above.
- Tap the comment to open the post it's on.
- Press and hold your comment, then tap Delete.
There are two situations where you can't: TikTok says you can't delete comments if the post is now private, or if the comment was on a Story that has expired. And remember the creator can delete your comment from their video too, so something missing from a post doesn't always mean you removed it.
TikTok's article only describes deleting comments one at a time from your history, so if you're doing a big clear-out, set aside a good few minutes and work down the list from the oldest posts you're least happy with.
For deleting comments on your own videos, and other people's comments there, my guide on how to delete comments on TikTok covers every route.
Comment history versus filtered comments
| Comment history | Review filtered comments | |
|---|---|---|
| What it shows | Comments you've posted anywhere | Comments on your videos that your filters hid |
| Where | Settings and privacy, Activity center | Settings and privacy, Privacy, Comments |
| What you can do | Open the post and delete your comment | Approve or delete each comment |
If you're looking for comments other people left on your videos that seem to have vanished, check Review filtered comments before anything else. Your keyword filters, Filter unwanted comments or Creator Care Mode may be hiding them until you approve them.
Why people use comment history
- Finding a video again by remembering what you said on it.
- Cleaning up old comments before using your account for business.
- Checking a comment you left on a brand or creator's post that you want to follow up.
- Removing a comment you're no longer happy to have under your name.
If you're turning a personal account into a business one, it's worth a quick scroll. Old comments are public on public posts, and potential clients do look.
Control who can comment on your own videos
While you're in settings, it's worth checking who can comment on your posts. Go to Settings and privacy, Privacy, Comments, then Allow comments from, and choose Everyone (public accounts only), Followers (private accounts only) or Friends, meaning followers you follow back. You can also switch comments on or off for a single post from its privacy settings before you post.
If your comments won't post
If the problem is that your comments aren't appearing in the first place, TikTok's own troubleshooting steps are:
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- Make sure you're logged in to your account.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Clear the app's video cache in Settings and privacy.
- Restart the app and your phone.
- Update to the latest version of TikTok.
TikTok also warns that commenting on videos too quickly can trigger an alert. If that happens, wait 24 hours and try again rather than repeating the same comment.
If you still can't find Comment history
- Update the TikTok app. Settings menus move between versions.
- Look under Activity center rather than Privacy. Comment history isn't with the comment filters.
- Check you're signed in to the right account if you run more than one.
My verdict
Comment history sits in Settings and privacy, Activity center. Use it to find or clean up what you've said, but don't expect video replies there, and remember you can't delete comments on posts that have since gone private or on expired Stories. If your worry is comments on your own videos, the filters and review tools in Privacy, then Comments, are where you want to be. And to keep your best comment at the top of your own videos, see how to pin a comment on TikTok.
