Irish creators can't join TikTok's Creator Rewards Program, but TikTok Shop is open in Ireland. Rewards you do receive follow TikTok's EEA policy: a bank account or PayPal in your legal name, calculated in US dollars, then converted into euro.
Ireland is an odd case on TikTok. It's one of the countries where you can open a TikTok Shop, but it's not one of the countries where TikTok's Creator Rewards Program is open. So an Irish creator can sell through the app and still not be paid for views. Here's how that fits together, and what TikTok's European payment rules say about getting money into an Irish bank account.
The split: shop yes, view-based rewards no
TikTok's Creator Rewards Program page names eight countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. Ireland isn't among them, so creators based in Ireland can't join, even though the UK and Germany can.
TikTok Shop is different. The seller site's region menu lists Ireland, alongside Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. TikTok's newsroom says Shop opened in Ireland on 10 December in 2024 and is open exclusively to businesses and shoppers based in Ireland. It also says 2.2 million people in Ireland use TikTok monthly, according to TikTok's internal data from 2024 (October).
Who can open a shop, and what TikTok asks for
The EU seller policy covers eight locales including Ireland. A sole trader must be at least 18 and hold a valid EU-issued ID, and the bank account must be from an EU institution. That has a practical effect: a creator who wants to sell their own products needs to be set up as a seller, not just post videos. I'd read the seller site's own pages before you spend anything on stock, because requirements can change.
How TikTok pays people in the EEA
Ireland sits inside the EEA, so TikTok's EEA Rewards Policy applies to rewards paid to you. These are the points that matter:
- You must be at least 18 to take part in Rewards Programs.
- Payments go to a Preferred Account, which must be a valid payment account registered in your legal name. TikTok gives bank accounts and PayPal as examples.
- Payments are calculated in US dollars. If you convert into euros, TikTok says any conversion cost is shown before you ask for or receive payment.
- Review of withdrawal requests is targeted within 24 hours, though some take longer.
- Until a payment reaches your account, the amount shown belongs to TikTok.
- You are responsible for your own taxes, and TikTok may withhold tax if it believes it must.
There's also a payment limits page for users based in the EEA, UK or Switzerland. It lists a minimum of 1 US dollar for PayPal, 9 US dollars for bank transfers in the UK and Germany, and 5 US dollars in France and Sweden. The fee is 1.5% plus 0.10 US dollars for PayPal, or 2.90 US dollars for a bank transfer, and the daily maximum is the equivalent of 1,000 US dollars in local currency. Ireland isn't named on that page, so I can't tell you the Irish bank transfer minimum. Check the figure in your own payment settings.
Euros, not dollars, in the end
The euro has been Ireland's money since it replaced the Irish pound for non-cash use on 1 January in 1999, and the old pound coins and notes stopped being legal tender on 9 February in 2002. Your TikTok figure is in US dollars, but your bank account is in euro. That means you should compare the conversion options before choosing between PayPal and a bank transfer, because a fee of 2.90 US dollars matters more on a small withdrawal than a large one.
Tax is on you. TikTok says it can't provide personal tax advice, so an Irish accountant is the right person to ask how creator income is treated, and what records to keep.
Where view-based pay does exist for Irish audiences
If view-based pay is your goal, the countries nearby have more to offer. My guide to TikTok pay per 1,000 views in Germany covers a country where the programme is open and shows what qualifying involves. For Ireland itself, look at what YouTube pays in Ireland, where the rules for your country are laid out by the platform.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Whichever platform you use, the usual pattern holds: reach first, then sell something, then add platform payments on top. If you've ever wondered how the dollar angle plays out in a country with a different local currency, my page on TikTok payments in Jamaica goes through it.

What I'd do first in Dublin, Cork or Galway
Check TikTok Studio for the programmes your account can use today. Decide whether your idea is a shop, a service or a content business, and pick the route that matches. Set up a payment account in your legal name before you need it, and keep your records neat for your accountant. If TikTok adds Ireland to Creator Rewards, you'll be ready, and if it doesn't, you won't have built your income on a hope.
