GEO for Agencies

GEO for agencies means getting recommended when businesses ask AI engines which agency or approach to use. Show clear answer-first descriptions of what you do and who you serve, real case results, Service and Organization schema, FAQ content, and earned mentions on sites AI engines trust. Specific, proven, well-structured pages win over vague positioning.

The short version: GEO for agencies cuts two ways. Your own prospects now ask AI "who is the best marketing agency for X", and so do your clients about their markets. If AI names other agencies and not you, you lose pitches you never knew existed, and if you cannot get your own clients named by AI, you are missing a service they will happily pay for. Check where your agency stands now, free, with my AI visibility tool.

Why GEO for agencies matters now

Buyers shortlist agencies the way they shortlist everything now. They ask AI. "Best PPC agency for ecommerce", "agency that does AI marketing", "who should I hire for B2B content". The AI hands over a few names, and if yours is missing, you are not in the pitch.

There is a second reason that matters more. Your clients are asking the same kind of question about their own industries. Helping them get named by AI is a service, and most agencies are not offering it yet. Being able to do it for yourself first is how you earn the right to sell it.

What is different about GEO for agencies

Agencies live or die on proof and positioning, and AI reads both. Case studies with real results, named clients where you can share them, and earned coverage all tell an AI you are credible.

The trap is being a generalist. "Full service agency" is invisible. The agency that clearly owns one thing, one channel, one industry, one outcome, is the one AI names. Specific wins.

How to do GEO for agencies

Build answer-first pages around the specific work you want more of, with results up top. Publish genuinely useful, quotable content that answers what your buyers ask, because AI lifts answers, not slogans. Then get named on the sources AI trusts, industry press, podcasts, and roundups you earn rather than buy. My guide on the sources AI trusts shows the play.

Then do it for your clients too. The same method that gets a SaaS company named by AI works across their industries, and it is a service worth charging for.

What I see agencies get wrong

They claim to do everything, so AI can pin them to nothing. They write award-bait copy with no extractable answers. They hide their results behind logos and never turn them into content. And they ignore earned media, then wonder why a sharper boutique gets named instead.

How this fits the bigger picture

GEO for agencies is the same foundation as everyone else, applied to a business that sells expertise. The full method is in the guide to generative engine optimization, and tracking where you stand month to month is how you prove it is working.

FAQ

Should agencies offer GEO as a service? Yes, and soon. Clients are already asking whether AI names them. The agencies that can answer and fix it will win the work.

How is this different from SEO we already sell? It overlaps but adds the off-site, get-named-by-AI layer. The same clear, credible, well-linked client tends to win in both.

Can we pay to get clients named by AI? No. There is no paid slot. It is earned, which is exactly why it is a real service and not a quick fix.
