Best Reddit Marketing and Monitoring Tools (2026)

For free Reddit keyword alerts, start with F5Bot. For faster alerts and filtering, look at Syften. For brand monitoring across Reddit and the wider web, try Brand24 or Awario. For finding leads in threads, ThauRed, Redreach and Subreddit Signals are built for it.

Reddit is one of those places where people say exactly what they think about products, brands and problems. Someone asks for a tool recommendation, and a few hours later there are fifty replies. If your business isn't in the room when that happens, you've missed the conversation.

The trouble is that Reddit is huge and its own search isn't built for tracking. That's where reddit monitoring tools come in. They watch for your keywords, your brand name or your competitors, and tell you when a thread appears. Some go further and help you find the threads worth joining.

I've put together nine tools below. I've checked what each one says about itself on its own website, and I've stuck to that. I haven't tested them all personally, so treat this as a shortlist to try, not a verdict. If you want the bigger picture first, my guide on how to use Reddit for lead generation is a good starting point.

What reddit monitoring tools do

There are three kinds of tool here, and it helps to know which one you need before you sign up for anything.

  • Keyword alert tools watch Reddit posts and comments for words you choose and send you a notification. Simple, quick and good for brand and competitor mentions.
  • Social listening platforms cover Reddit as one source among many. They add sentiment, reports and dashboards, which suits bigger teams and agencies.
  • Reddit lead-finding tools rank threads by how relevant they are to your product and often help you draft a reply. They're aimed at founders and small teams who want conversations that turn into customers.

Most small businesses need the first or the third. The second is worth it when Reddit is only part of a wider brand monitoring job.

The best Reddit marketing and monitoring tools

1. F5Bot

F5Bot is the classic free option. Its website says it monitors Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you when they show up. It's been running since 2017, and there's a free tier that doesn't need a credit card.

Who it suits: anyone who wants basic mention alerts without setting up a big platform. Founders, freelancers and small brands love it because it's quick. You pick your keywords and you're done.

What stands out: you can choose instant alerts, batched alerts or a daily digest. The higher tiers add things like AI filtering, RSS and JSON feeds, Slack and Discord webhooks and API access.

Watch out for: it's an alert tool, not a research tool. It tells you a thread exists. It won't score the thread, tell you the sentiment or help you decide whether to reply.

2. Syften

Syften describes itself as a keyword monitoring tool for online communities and the public web. Reddit is its speciality. Its site talks about a target Reddit delay of under a minute, and it tracks both posts and comments for your keywords and brand names.

Who it suits: founders, marketers, support teams and agencies who want fast Reddit alerts and a bit more control than a free tool gives.

What stands out: AI filtering to cut out spam and repetitive content, an archive search so you can look at past mentions, and alerts by email, Slack, RSS, API or webhook. It also covers 18 or more platforms beyond Reddit, including Hacker News, GitHub, YouTube and forums. There's a 14-day trial with no credit card needed, and it says you'll see who mentioned you in the last 60 days straight away.

Watch out for: API access sits on the higher tiers, so check what's included in the plan you're looking at before you commit.

3. Brand24

Brand24 is a social listening platform. Its website lists Reddit among the online sources it monitors, and it adds sentiment analysis, competitor tracking, automated reports and hashtag tracking. It supports 108 languages.

Who it suits: marketers, PR people, agencies and SaaS companies who want to track brand conversations in one dashboard, with Reddit as one input.

What stands out: the sentiment analysis, which sorts mentions into positive, negative and neutral, and the reporting. That's useful if you need to show a boss or a client what people are saying. You can sign up free to have a look.

Watch out for: it's a broad tool. If Reddit is the only place you care about, you'll be paying attention to a lot of features you may never use.

4. Awario

Awario tracks brand mentions across social media, news, blogs, videos, forums and reviews, and its website lists Reddit as a supported source. It also offers sentiment analysis, competitor monitoring, Boolean search and location-based monitoring.

Who it suits: PR and reputation managers, SEO professionals, agencies and social selling teams. It's a good fit if you want listening plus a way to spot influencers.

What stands out: the Boolean search. If you know how to write precise search queries, you can cut the noise right down. It also connects with Slack for alerts, and there's a free trial on the site.

Watch out for: Boolean queries take a little learning. If you've never used them, set aside an hour to get your searches right, or you'll drown in irrelevant mentions.

5. Octolens

Octolens calls itself an AI social listening platform that pulls mentions from 15 or more platforms into one place. Its site lists Reddit specifically, with tracking for Reddit posts and comments. It scores mentions for relevance and intent and labels sentiment as positive, negative or neutral.

Who it suits: founders, marketing teams, developer relations teams and agencies, especially if you're technical and want mentions delivered into other tools.

What stands out: delivery options. You can get alerts in Slack or email, or send mentions through an API, webhooks or an MCP server. It also integrates with ChatGPT, Claude and a few other tools. There's a 7-day free trial.

Watch out for: it looks built for product-led and technical teams. If you just want an email when someone mentions your name, it may be more than you need.

6. Sprout Social

Sprout Social is a full social media management platform, covering scheduling, engagement, analytics, trend discovery and influencer work. Its homepage lists Reddit among the platforms in its integrations section.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Who it suits: teams that already manage several social channels and want everything, including listening, under one roof.

What stands out: the breadth. Publishing, replying to messages, reporting and monitoring conversations all sit in the same place, which saves switching between tools.

Watch out for: this is a social media suite first. The page I checked only mentions Reddit as an integration, so if Reddit is your main focus, check exactly what the Reddit support covers before buying. A specialist tool will probably serve you better.

7. ThauRed

ThauRed is a Reddit marketing tool. Its website says it finds relevant subreddit discussions, scores them by fit and drafts contextual replies for you to approve before anything is posted.

Who it suits: founders and product builders who want to talk to people already discussing their product category on Reddit.

What stands out: a few things. It maps subreddit rules, culture and how tolerant a community is of self-promotion. It has a contribution planner to pace your activity. And nothing posts automatically. You approve every reply. There's also a free plan with two scans and no card needed, so you can test it first.

Watch out for: it's aimed at product companies. A service business or a personal brand will need to think about how the product-focused approach fits.

8. Redreach

Redreach describes itself as an AI-powered Reddit lead generation tool. According to its site, it looks for high-intent conversations, including Reddit threads that rank in search, suggests replies and tracks brand and competitor mentions around the clock.

Who it suits: SaaS companies, e-commerce businesses, consultants, agencies and local service providers looking for buyers already asking questions.

What stands out: the focus on threads that show up in search results. A reply to a Reddit thread that ranks on Google can keep getting seen for a long time. Alerts can go to email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook, and it tracks which posts you've already replied to so you don't double up.

Watch out for: the site also mentions DM automation for bulk personalised messages. I'd be very careful with that. Bulk messaging is the quickest way to annoy a community and get your account flagged. I'd stick with public, useful replies.

9. Subreddit Signals

Subreddit Signals monitors the subreddits you choose and ranks posts by product fit and buyer intent. You read the context, draft a reply with AI help and post from your own Reddit account. Its site is clear that it doesn't post for you.

Who it suits: founders, lean growth teams, B2B software companies, agencies handling several brands and indie hackers who want a repeatable routine.

What stands out: it offers voice profiles for drafting comments, a pain points radar and competitor intelligence. Email digests and Slack notifications are on the Pro tier. There's a 14-day trial.

Watch out for: it watches selected subreddits, not all of Reddit. If you want to catch a brand mention anywhere on the site, pair it with a keyword alert tool. The trial also needs a card, so read the terms first.

How I'd choose

Start with what you're trying to do, not the feature list.

  • You just want to know when your name comes up: F5Bot. It's free, so there's nothing to lose.
  • You want faster alerts and less noise: Syften, or Awario if you like writing precise searches.
  • You need reports and sentiment for a team or client: Brand24, Octolens or Sprout Social.
  • You want customers, not just mentions: ThauRed, Redreach or Subreddit Signals.

My advice is to begin with a free option and give it two weeks. Note how many alerts were useful and how many were junk. If most were junk, tighten your keywords before you blame the tool. If you're still learning what to say once you find a thread, my Reddit marketing strategy guide covers that side of things.

If you're building a wider lead pipeline, Reddit is only one channel. Have a look at my list of the best lead generation tools for marketing agencies too. And if brand tracking beyond Reddit is what you're after, my older roundup of social listening tools shows how the category got started, though the tools have moved on since.

Using these tools without getting banned

A monitoring tool can find the conversation. It can't make you welcome in it. Reddit communities notice self-promotion quickly, and a banned account is hard to come back from. A few plain rules keep you safe.

  • Read the subreddit rules first. Every community has its own. Some ban links, some ban any mention of your own business, some want you to post a certain way. Follow them to the letter.
  • Give value first. Answer the question fully. If your answer would be good without a link to your product, it's probably a good answer.
  • Be honest about who you are. If you mention your own product, say it's yours. People forgive that. They don't forgive being tricked.
  • Build a history. An account that only ever talks about one brand looks like spam. Take part in other threads too.
  • Don't copy and paste. AI drafts are a starting point. Rewrite them in your own words and check they fit the thread.
  • Go slowly. A few good replies a week beat a burst of twenty. Communities notice bursts.

If a moderator tells you no, take it well and move on. The goal is to be known as the helpful person in the thread, not the person who got removed.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free way to monitor Reddit for keywords?

Yes. F5Bot has a free tier that monitors Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you alerts, and its site says no credit card is needed. ThauRed also lists a free plan with two scans, though that's for finding threads rather than ongoing alerts.

Do I need a Reddit-specific tool or a general social listening platform?

It depends on where your customers are. If Reddit is your main interest, a specialist like Syften or F5Bot will usually be simpler. If you're tracking brand mentions on many channels and need reports, a platform like Brand24 or Awario covers Reddit alongside the rest.

What happened to GummySearch?

GummySearch's own website says it closed on 30 November 2025. If you used it for Reddit audience research, the tools in this list, particularly the lead-finding ones, are the sort of thing people move to.

Will using these tools get my Reddit account banned?

Not by themselves. Monitoring is passive. The risk comes from how you reply. Follow each subreddit's rules, be useful before you mention your business and avoid bulk messaging or copy-and-paste replies, and you'll be on much safer ground.
