Jira Apps (2026): 11 Apps for Jira Cloud Compared

The Jira apps teams install most cover scripting and automation, time tracking, test management, reporting, cloning and checklists. On the Atlassian app store, installs and ratings often don't line up, so read installs, the review count, the average rating and the latest release date together. Eleven Jira Cloud apps follow in no particular order.

Jira does a lot on its own, but most teams end up adding apps for the jobs it leaves rough: automating workflows, logging time, managing tests and building reports. The eleven here are Jira Cloud apps from the Atlassian app store, and each listing's install count is shown below.

They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order. Installs, review counts, average ratings and latest release dates are as of Oct 2026. If you're a team of one and Jira feels like too much, my guide to project management software for solo workers is a better place to start.

Type and Good for come from each app's own listing. Only one app here shows a free payment model on its Atlassian app store listing, so it's the only Yes; the rest say Not stated, as of Oct 2026.

Eleven apps that add to Jira

Checklists for Jira (Pro)

Best for: Adding to-do lists, Definition of Done and acceptance criteria to Jira issues, tied into automation, JQL and workflow validators.

Deep Clone for Jira

Best for: Admins who copy whole projects, epics or work items in bulk, or turn projects into reusable templates for new teams.

draw.io Diagrams for Jira

Best for: Drawing diagrams without leaving Jira, from a diagramming app whose listing says it's been around since 2013.

eazyBI

Best for: Teams who've outgrown Jira's built-in reports and want business intelligence style reporting and analysis on their own Jira data.

Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE)

Best for: Jira admins who configure workflows with point-and-click post functions, conditions and validators, with scripting there when they need it.

ScriptRunner for Jira

Best for: Admins comfortable with Groovy who want to automate workflows, build custom fields and write enhanced JQL without building a full add-on.

Status Time Reports Free

Best for: Seeing how much time issues spend in each status, from a rate-limited version of a fuller app by the same publisher.

Time in Status

Best for: Measuring cycle time, lead time and sprint performance, with reports on how work moves between statuses.

Timesheets by Tempo

Best for: Logging and planning time against Jira work, for organisations that need to understand where their hours go.

Xray

Best for: QA teams who want test management inside Jira, with traceability across the whole software development cycle.

Zephyr

Best for: Teams that reuse and automate tests across projects and want test runs and reporting built into Jira.

Installs and ratings don't line up on the Atlassian app store

ScriptRunner for Jira has the most installs here, 34,319 as of Oct 2026. Status Time Reports Free has 10,530 installs and only 59 reviews, yet shares the highest average on the list at 4.8. draw.io Diagrams for Jira has fewer installs again, 8,470, but 350 reviews.

Release dates vary too. Xray's latest release is November 20, 2025, while nine of the others show a release between October 25 and October 28, 2026, as of Oct 2026. A high average from a few dozen reviews is thinner evidence than a slightly lower one from hundreds, so weigh all four numbers before you install.

Which kind of Jira app for which team

  • Your admins can script: pick a scripting and automation app.
  • You plan or report by the hour: pick a time tracking app.
  • You run QA in Jira: pick a test management app.
  • You need to see where work gets stuck: pick a status time report.
  • You set up similar projects often: pick a cloning app.
  • Your managers want reports Jira won't build: pick a reporting app.

Checking a Jira app listing before you install

  1. Make sure the listing is for Jira Cloud if that's what your team runs.
  2. Read installs and the review count together, then the average.
  3. Check the latest release date.
  4. Read the payment model on the listing, and talk to your Jira admin before anyone installs anything.

My plain advice on choosing Jira apps

Add apps for the jobs Jira can't do, one at a time, and give each one a few weeks before you add another. Every app is one more thing your admin has to look after, so start with the gap that hurts most and check installs, reviews and the latest release before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

What are the most installed Jira apps?

On this list, a scripting and automation app has the most installs at 34,319 as of Oct 2026, followed by a time tracking app and a test management app.

Are Jira apps free?

Only one app here shows a free payment model on its Atlassian app store listing as of Oct 2026. For the rest, read each listing's own terms with your admin.

Do these Jira apps work with Jira Cloud?

The eleven on this page are all listed for Jira Cloud on the Atlassian app store.

Why do some Jira apps have high ratings but few reviews?

A small number of reviews can produce a high average. On this list review counts run from 59 to 899, as of Oct 2026, so read the count before the average.

Who should install Jira apps?

Usually a Jira admin, because apps change how the whole site works for everyone. Agree the job the app needs to do before anyone installs it.
