Car Dealer CRM (2026): 10 Dealership CRMs Compared

A car dealer CRM is software built for dealerships to manage leads, shoppers, follow-ups and customer history through the sale and beyond. Some are standalone dealer CRMs, some sit inside a dealer management system (DMS), and a newer group are AI platforms that answer leads and work across your existing tools. Ten options follow in no particular order.

Every dealership sales desk needs one place for its internet leads, phone ups, follow-ups and customer history. The tools below are built for car dealers, and they talk the language of ups, desking, equity and service visits rather than generic pipelines.

The ten are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from each maker's own website, read 2 Nov 2026 (as of Nov 2026). If you're new to buying a CRM, my checklist on what to look for when choosing a CRM system is a good warm-up.

Ten CRM options for car dealers

AutoRaptor

Best for: High-volume dealers wanting a CRM with an AI Sales Assistant that its page says responds to every inbound lead in under 60 seconds, by text, email, chat or voice.

CDK Global

Best for: Dealers who want CRM from the same vendor as their dealer management system, as its menu lists both.

DealerCenter

Best for: Dealers running CRM, inventory and buy here pay here portfolio management from one dealer management system, all listed in its menu.

DealerPeak

Best for: Auto groups that want to report on trends across the entire group, then drill down to a single location, team or associate.

DealerSocket

Best for: Stores that want CRM alongside equity mining, websites, digital retail and a DMS from one vendor's product line.

DriveCentric

Best for: Sales teams who want a CRM that its page says responds to every lead within minutes and keeps the team organised.

Fullpath

Best for: Dealerships focused on their customer data, since its menu lists a customer data platform and an Agentic CRM marked Limited Release.

Podium

Best for: Dealerships wanting one AI platform that its page says brings CRM, inbox and phones together and connects to the DMS.

Tekion

Best for: Groups ready to move the whole dealership onto one platform, as its menu lists DMS, CRM, digital retail and accounting side by side.

VinSolutions

Best for: Showrooms wanting CRM and desking software in one place, with what its page calls exclusive Cox Automotive shopper data.

Standalone, inside the DMS, or an AI layer on top

Here's the split a dealer wouldn't guess from the ads. Some are standalone dealer CRMs that sell the CRM itself. DriveCentric says its CRM 'responds to every lead within minutes', AutoRaptor says its AI Sales Assistant 'responds to every inbound lead in under 60 seconds', DealerPeak talks about reporting across an entire auto group, and DealerSocket sells CRM beside equity mining and dealer websites.

Other CRMs live inside a dealer management system. CDK Global, DealerCenter and Tekion each list a DMS and a CRM in the same menu, so the CRM comes with the system that runs your deals. VinSolutions sits between the two: it calls itself 'the AI-powered CRM with exclusive Cox Automotive shopper data', and its page header lists sister Cox Automotive brands such as Autotrader, Dealertrack and vAuto.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

The newest group are AI platforms. Podium's AI, Jerry, 'brings your CRM, inbox, and phones into one platform', and Fullpath's menu lists an 'Agentic CRM' as a Limited Release. So before you compare features, decide whether you want a CRM on its own, one that comes with your DMS, or an AI layer that works across what you've already got.

Speed-to-lead promises, and how to test them

Two of the standalone CRMs put response time front and centre, one in minutes and one in seconds. Those are the makers' own claims. In a demo, ask to see a test lead arrive and watch what happens next: who gets notified, what the shopper receives, and how a salesperson takes over the conversation without repeating what the software already said.

Retention belongs in the CRM too

A dealer CRM isn't only for fresh leads. Two pages on this list talk about bringing customers back: one AI platform says it drives first-time buyers back for trade-ins and service visits, and one suite pairs CRM with equity mining. If repeat business matters to your store, my car dealership customer retention strategies pair well with whichever CRM you choose.

Six things to check in a dealership CRM demo

  1. Does it connect to the DMS you run today, or would it replace it?
  2. How do internet leads, phone calls and texts land in the same customer record?
  3. Can managers report across every store in a group as well as a single location?
  4. What can a salesperson do from the mobile app while they're on the lot?
  5. How does it handle service customers and equity, not just new sales?
  6. What's involved in moving your existing customer data across?

My advice for dealers comparing CRMs

Decide where the CRM should live before you book a single demo. If you're happy with your DMS, look at the standalone CRMs and the AI platforms that connect to it. If you're replacing the DMS anyway, look at the systems that bundle a CRM inside. Then run the same test lead through every shortlisted tool, and let your sales team, not the vendor, tell you which one they'd open every morning.

Once it's live, the CRM is only as good as the habits around it. My guide to using CRM software well with a small team covers the routines that keep a sales desk on top of its follow-ups.

Frequently asked questions

What is a car dealer CRM?

It's customer relationship management software built for dealerships, covering leads, follow-ups and customer history. The makers on this list add dealer tools such as desking, equity mining, inventory and connections to a dealer management system.

Is a dealer CRM the same as a DMS?

No. The DMS is the system that runs the dealership's deals and back office, while the CRM handles leads and customer relationships. Some vendors on this list sell both on one platform, and others sell a CRM that connects to your DMS.

Which of these dealer CRMs use AI?

Several say so on their own pages. One standalone CRM calls itself AI-powered, another has an AI Sales Assistant, the Cox Automotive CRM calls itself AI-powered, and the two AI platforms are built around AI agents. Ask each vendor to show what the AI does in a live demo.

Can a dealer CRM answer leads automatically?

Two makers on this list say theirs responds to every lead, one within minutes and one in under 60 seconds by text, email, chat or voice. Treat those as the makers' claims and test them with your own leads in a demo.

Do any of these CRMs work for RV dealers?

One standalone CRM on this list has a section for recreational vehicle dealers in its own menu. If you sell RVs, ask the others directly whether their CRM handles your inventory and leads.

Which of these suit a dealer group with several stores?

One standalone CRM says it reports on trends across an entire auto group and down to a single location, team or associate, and one AI platform lists multi-rooftop data visibility. Ask any vendor how it handles several rooftops before you sign.
