An AI podcast generator turns written material, such as notes, a PDF, a web page or a script, into an audio episode read by AI hosts. Some write the script for you, some only voice what you give them, and some also host the show. Choose by your source material and where the episode will live. Ten options follow, in no particular order.
You don't need a microphone, a guest or an editing suite to put out a podcast any more. You need something worth saying and a tool that turns it into a conversation people will listen to.
The ten generators below cover note-to-episode tools, script readers, API services and full studios. They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the vendor's own website, read this week. If you're starting a show from scratch, my guide on how to start a podcast covers the planning that comes before the tool.
AI podcast generators at a glance
I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site says the tool, or a plan or version of it, is free. Trial only means a time-limited trial or trial credit. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

The disclosure rule for realistic AI voices
YouTube Help says creators must disclose AI-generated or altered content that seems realistic. Its list includes content that makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn't do.
That matters the moment an AI podcast copies a real voice, or puts a quote in a real person's mouth. Generic AI hosts reading your own words are a different case, but if a listener could believe a real person said it, switch on the AI disclosure when you upload.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Script first, voices second
The voices get the attention, but the script decides whether anyone listens past the first minute. Two AI hosts reading a summary sound flat. Two hosts disagreeing, asking each other questions and landing on a clear takeaway sound like a show.
Most generators let you edit the script before the audio is made. Use that step. Cut the filler, add one story or example from your own work and make sure the episode ends with a single action for the listener.
Five checks before you publish an AI episode
- Read the full script and fix anything the AI got wrong.
- Listen at normal speed for mispronounced names and brands.
- Add an intro that says who's behind the show.
- Check the licence lets you publish and monetise the audio.
- Keep the source document so you can answer questions about it.
What these tools can't do for you
A generator can turn a report into twenty minutes of audio. It can't tell you whether the report is interesting. It also can't build an audience, so plan where each episode will be shared and who it's for before you make the next one.
Signs an AI episode isn't working
- Both hosts agree on everything. Add a challenge.
- It summarises without a point. End on one action.
- Names are mispronounced. Fix the spelling in the script.
- Nobody knows who made it. Say it in the intro.

My plain advice on AI podcasts
Treat an AI podcast as a format for something you already know well, not a shortcut to sounding like an expert. Start with one piece of your best existing content, turn it into a short episode and send it to ten customers. Their replies will tell you more than any download count.
Then reuse the script. My free AI podcast intro tools page covers the opening that makes a new show sound finished.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI podcast generator?
It's a tool that turns text, documents, links or a script into a podcast episode read by AI voices, often with a script written for you.
Can AI make a podcast from a PDF?
Yes. Several tools on this list accept PDFs and documents and turn them into a conversation between AI hosts.
Should listeners be told an episode used AI?
On YouTube you must disclose realistic AI content, such as a real person made to say something they didn't. Saying it in your intro builds trust anyway.
Can I publish AI podcasts on Spotify and Apple Podcasts?
You can publish through a podcast host, but check each platform's own content rules and the generator's licence before you do.
How long should an AI podcast episode be?
Long enough to cover one idea well. Short episodes are easier to edit and easier for new listeners to finish.
Can I use my own voice?
Some podcast tools and voice platforms offer voice cloning. Only clone a voice you own or have written permission to use.
