Best AI Music Detectors (2026): 10 Ways to Check a Song

The best AI music detector depends on how many songs you need to check. Free web checkers answer one track at a time, label and distributor tools work across whole catalogs, and developer APIs and open source models let you build a check into your own product. None of them gives proof. Ten options follow in no particular order.

AI song generators can now produce full tracks with vocals in minutes, and the people asking whether a song is AI-made range from a curious listener to a distributor screening a flood of uploads. The detectors built for each of them look very different once you read their pages.

The ten below are listed alphabetically, in no particular order, and each description comes from the developer's own page, read as of Nov 2026. I've left out the accuracy numbers several of them publish, because those are their own claims on their own tests.

Ten tools that check whether a song was made with AI

ACRCloud AI Song Detector

Best for: Analyzing a song and pointing to the segments likely to be AI-generated, for tracks where only part of the music came from AI.

AHA Music AI Music Detector

Best for: Uploading a track for an AI probability reading, a likely platform and separate looks at the vocals and accompaniment.

AI Music Detector

Best for: Reading a song's vocals and instrumentation separately, with per-window evidence, free and without registration.

Authio

Best for: Labels, distributors and publishers who want to know which platform created a track, not only whether it's AI-generated.

IRCAM Amplify AI Music Detector

Best for: Detecting music from Suno, Udio, Sonauto, Eleven Labs and other generators at scale, with access by request.

lofcz ai-music-detector

Best for: Developers who want a Suno and Udio detector they can run themselves, built around artifacts left by neural vocoders.

Pex AI Song Detector (Vobile)

Best for: Asking whether a song is AI-generated through an API or from inside AI assistants, with the likely model named in the answer.

Qosmo AI Music Detector

Best for: Spotting fully AI-generated tracks, using a detector trained on music from services such as Suno and Udio.

Sightengine

Best for: Product teams adding AI-generated music detection to their own app through a documented API.

Suno Checker

Best for: Checking a song by file, by recording your computer's audio or by link, then exporting the results without an account.

Free song checker, catalog tool or developer building block?

AI Music Detector says its output is 'never a claim of proof', which is the right way to read every tool here. Suno Checker looks for 'possible Suno or Udio sources', and AHA Music reports an 'identified platform' and takes 'Files up to 99 MB'. Qosmo describes its detector as 'designed to identify fully AI-generated tracks' and also offers a free web-based version.

At the other end, Authio sells to labels and distributors and wants to identify 'which platform created it', and IRCAM Amplify lists 'Suno, Udio, Sonauto, Eleven Labs, and more' among the generators it detects, with access by request. ACRCloud says its detector can 'identify specific segments that are likely AI-generated', for tracks where only part of the music came from AI.

Then there are the building blocks. Pex offers a 'Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server' so AI assistants can ask whether a song is AI-generated, Sightengine's page is an 'AI-generated Music Detection API', and the open source lofcz model works by 'exploiting spectral artifacts inherent to neural vocoders'. That's the split a listener wouldn't guess: free checkers answer one song at a time, label-facing tools work at catalog scale, and a few entries are pieces developers build with rather than apps you open.

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Why no song checker can settle the question

Detectors learn the fingerprints that today's generators leave behind, such as artifacts in the audio, patterns in vocals and the way a track is mixed. New generator versions change those fingerprints, and a producer who uses AI for one stem, a backing vocal or a mastering pass blurs the picture further. A song can be partly AI-made and partly human, which is why the segment-level tools exist.

Treat any result as a lead. If a track matters, for a release, a playlist or a dispute, compare results from more than one tool, look at the per-section readings rather than one headline number, and ask the person who made it how they worked.

Picking the right kind of song checker

  • A listener with one song. A free web checker is enough. Upload the best-quality file you have, because a phone recording of a speaker loses the detail detectors rely on.
  • A label or distributor. Screening uploads at volume needs a tool built for catalogs, with an API and results your team can act on before release.
  • A developer. If you're building the check into an app, look at a detection API or an open source model you can run and test yourself.
  • A song that's partly AI. Look for tools that read vocals and instruments separately or flag segments, rather than giving one score for the whole track.
  • Which generators it knows. Most of these name the big generators they're tuned for. A track from a newer or less common tool may slip past.

My advice on checking a song for AI

Start free and stay sceptical. For one track, run it through a free checker or two and read the section-by-section results, not only the headline. If you screen music for a living, a catalog tool built for labels and distributors will fit your workflow far better than a web page. And if you're building something, start with an API or an open source model you can test on your own sample of songs. Whatever the result, it's a signal, never the last word.

For the other side of the question, my Suno prompts show how AI songs get made in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI music detector prove a song is AI-generated?

No. Every tool here gives a likelihood, and at least one says on its own page that its output is never a claim of proof. Use results as a lead, not a final answer.

Are there free AI music detectors?

Yes, several tools on this list offer free web checkers on their own pages, as of Nov 2026, some without an account. Free limits change, so check the tool's site first.

Can a detector tell which AI generator made a song?

Some try. A few tools on this list report the platform they think created a track, or say they're tuned to well-known generators. Treat the platform guess as a hint, not a fact.

What if only part of a song was made with AI?

Some detectors read vocals and instruments separately or flag the sections that look AI-generated, which suits tracks where AI was used for one part only. A single score for the whole song can miss that.

Do AI music detectors work on a recording made on a phone?

Results are less reliable. Background noise and compression strip out the detail detectors look for, so upload the original file where you can.

Who uses AI music detectors?

Listeners and creators checking a single track, plus record labels, distributors and streaming services screening uploads at scale, and developers adding a check to their own apps.
