As of October 2026, Airtable's Team plan costs $20 per seat a month billed annually or $24 billed monthly, and Business costs $45 per seat a month billed annually or $54 billed monthly, in US dollars. There's a Free plan for up to 5 editors, and Enterprise Scale has custom pricing.
Airtable sits somewhere between a spreadsheet and a database, and it's a favourite with small teams who run content calendars, client trackers or product lists. The pricing is per seat, which sounds simple, but who counts as a seat is the question that decides your bill.
Airtable plans and prices
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Records per base |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1,000 |
| Team | $20 per seat a month | $24 per seat a month | 50,000 |
| Business | $45 per seat a month | $54 per seat a month | 125,000 |
| Enterprise Scale | Custom pricing | Custom pricing | 500,000 |
Who you pay for and who you don't
Here's the rule that saves small teams real cash. Airtable says its plans are charged per seat, but no charges apply on Team or Business for read-only collaborators, form submissions or share links. So a client who only needs to view a base, or a customer filling in a form, doesn't add to your bill. Only the people who edit need seats.
That means a three-person team sharing reports with ten clients pays for three seats, not thirteen.
What each plan includes
- Free: unlimited bases, 1,000 records per base, up to 5 editors, 1 GB of attachments per base, 100 automation runs, Interface Designer and 500 AI credits per editor each month.
- Team: 50,000 records per base, 25,000 automation runs, 20 GB of attachments per base, standard sync integrations, extensions, Gantt and timeline views, and 15,000 AI credits per paid user each month.
- Business: 125,000 records per base, 100,000 automation runs, 100 GB of attachments per base, premium and two-way sync, an admin panel, SAML-based single sign-on and 20,000 AI credits per paid user each month.
- Enterprise Scale: 500,000 records per base, 500,000 automation runs, 1,000 GB of attachments per base, audit logs, an enterprise API and enhanced security controls.
Add-ons: Portals
If you want outside people to log in to a branded portal, Airtable sells Portals as an add-on. It lists Portals starting from $120 for 15 guests a month on Team and from $150 for 15 guests a month on Business, with Enterprise pricing through sales.
When the Free plan stops working
The limit most small teams hit first is records. 1,000 records per base fills up fast if you track every lead or every social post. The second is automations, with 100 runs on Free against 25,000 on Team. My guide on whether Airtable is free walks through the free plan limits in detail.
How to choose
- Count the people who need to edit. Viewers, form fillers and share-link visitors don't need seats.
- Check your largest base. Over 1,000 records means Team, over 50,000 means Business.
- Count your automations. If you rely on them daily, Free's 100 runs won't last.
- Decide on single sign-on and admin controls. If you need them, Business is the starting point.
- Choose annual billing once you're settled, since Team drops from $24 to $20 per seat a month.

AI credits by plan
Airtable now includes a monthly AI allowance on every plan, measured in credits. It lists 500 AI credits per editor each month on Free, 15,000 per paid user on Team, 20,000 per paid user on Business, and 25,000 per paid user on Enterprise Scale at list price. If you plan to use Airtable's AI fields to tag or summarise records at scale, check the credit allowance as carefully as the record limit.
What Enterprise Scale adds
Enterprise Scale is for organisations building apps across many teams. Beyond the higher limits, Airtable lists HyperDB, Enterprise Hub, an App Library, extension and integration management, audit logs and data loss prevention, and AI admin controls. Pricing is custom and handled by Airtable's sales team, so it isn't something a small business needs to price up.
Who the Free plan suits
Free is more useful than most free plans. Unlimited bases, up to 5 editors and Interface Designer are enough for a freelancer or a tiny team running a content calendar or a simple client tracker. The catch is scale: 1,000 records per base, 1 GB of attachments per base and 100 automation runs. If any of those three is close today, budget for Team rather than waiting to hit the wall, because moving a busy base mid-project is never fun.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
My verdict
For most small teams, Airtable Team at $20 per seat a month billed annually is the right plan, and because read-only viewers and form submissions are free, the bill is often smaller than people expect. Stay on Free while you're under 1,000 records and 5 editors. Move to Business only when you need single sign-on, an admin panel or two-way sync, and pay annually once the team size is stable.
