Adobe Stock has a free trial that lets you download the assets included in your plan at no cost, and Adobe says anything you download during the trial is yours to keep, even if you cancel. Its plans page is headed "Get 10 Stock images free". The catch: when the trial ends, an annual subscription begins and you're charged automatically unless you cancel first.
For a small business, ten free licensed images is a useful batch: enough for a website refresh or a month of social posts. The part to watch is the annual plan that follows, because cancelling a yearly commitment later isn't as simple as cancelling a trial.
Adobe Stock free trial: how it works

| What's in a subscription? | Standard assets: royalty-free, high-resolution images, templates, 3D and music tracks |
| What costs extra? | Adobe says most subscriptions include HD videos, but 4K video, Premium, editorial and extended licences are bought on top or with credit packs |
Two ways to start an Adobe Stock trial
A standalone Adobe Stock trial
- Go to Adobe Stock's plans page.
- Choose a plan with the free trial offer and sign in or create an Adobe account.
- Add your payment details.
- Download the standard assets your plan includes, then note your trial end date.
Added to a Creative Cloud app trial
Adobe's download help says that when you start a Creative Cloud app trial, you can also include a 7-day free trial of Adobe Stock by ticking the checkbox in Pick a subscription. That's handy if you're already trying Photoshop or Illustrator, but it ties both end dates together, so diarise them.
What the plan costs if you keep it
Adobe's plans page doesn't list every plan price in its FAQ, but it does say the US$29.99/mo plans and the US$79.99/mo and US$99.99/mo plans include rollover, as of October 2026. Rollover means unused licences or credits carry forward for as long as you keep the subscription. Adobe says plans range from up to 3 to 750 standard assets a month, and annual commitments give a lower price per asset than monthly ones.
How to choose your trial images
The trial is short, so go in with a list. This is how I'd use it for a small business:
- List the pages and posts that need imagery this quarter: your home page, about page, service pages and a month of social posts.
- Search Adobe Stock for each slot and save the best options into a library before you start the trial.
- Start the trial and download your shortlist straight away, while the licences are free.
- Store the files and licence details in one shared folder so your team knows they're cleared for use.
- Decide whether you'll need a steady flow of new images. If not, cancel.
Doing the searching before the trial starts means you aren't burning free days browsing. It also stops the classic mistake of downloading a dozen nearly identical photos because the clock was ticking.

Is an annual Adobe Stock plan worth it?
It's worth it if you publish a lot of visual content every month and need licensed, consistent images. Rollover helps, because unused licences carry forward while you stay subscribed. It's not worth it if you need a handful of images a year, because Adobe says you lose unused licences and credits when you cancel. For occasional use, the trial plus free sources is the better route, and you can always buy a credit pack later for the odd image you can't find elsewhere.
How to cancel before the trial ends
- Sign in to your Adobe account and open Plans.
- Under Manage plan for Adobe Stock, select Cancel your plan.
- Choose a reason in the confirmation window and select Continue.
- On the next screen, choose to continue with cancellation. Adobe sends an email confirmation.
Two Adobe rules can block you on the day. If the card on your account has expired or the account is suspended, Adobe says you can't cancel until you update your payment details. And cancelling means you lose access to any unused licences, so download everything you want before you cancel, not after.
Licence basics before you use trial images
- Adobe says most assets come with a standard licence. Check the licence on each asset before you use it in paid ads or products.
- Adobe's own example of what a standard licence doesn't cover: printing an image on a coffee mug to sell. That needs an extended licence.
- Credits from credit packs and licences from subscription plans can't be combined to license an asset.
- On a team plan, Adobe says you can share assets with members of your team.

My verdict
The Adobe Stock free trial is worth it if you have a real batch of images to license right now, because whatever you download stays yours. Pick your images before you start, download them early, check your card is current, and cancel through Plans before the end date unless you want the annual plan that follows.
