A WordPress review plugin either collects reviews on your own site or displays reviews you've earned on Google, Facebook or Yelp, and a few add review boxes to posts you write. Know which job you need before you install. Ten free plugins follow in no particular order, with directory numbers as of Oct 2026.
Reviews do their best work where a buyer is making up their mind, on a product page, a service page or the home page. The plugins that put them there split three ways: some ask customers for reviews and store them on your site, some pull in reviews from platforms like Google, Facebook and Yelp, and one lets you write your own review box into a post.
The ten below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description is the plugin's own from the WordPress.org plugin directory. If you'd like reviews handled across several platforms rather than on one site, my list of review management software covers the tools built for that.
Review plugins side by side
Each of these is a free plugin in the WordPress.org plugin directory, as of Oct 2026, so every free plan cell reads Yes. Some makers sell extra features on their own sites, so check the plugin's page for what's included before you rely on it.

Collect, display or write your own
- Collecting reviews on your site: WP Customer Reviews lets visitors leave business or product reviews, and Reviews Plus turns comments into reviews.
- Collecting reviews from WooCommerce buyers: Customer Reviews for WooCommerce sends automated review reminders, with 80,000+ installs and 96/100 from 1,539 ratings as of Oct 2026, and Revopic lets customers attach photos to their reviews.
- Displaying reviews from other platforms: two Google review plugins, compared below, plus WP Review Slider for Facebook and WP Social Ninja for reviews alongside social feeds.
- Writing your own review boxes: Absolute Reviews adds review boxes with JSON-LD schema to your posts. It has the lowest rating here, 80/100 from 8, and the oldest update of the ten (9 Jun 2026).
Mix the groups up and you'll be disappointed. A display plugin won't gather a single new review, and a collection plugin won't show the Google reviews you've already got.
Where review stars in search stop
Google Search Central's review snippet structured data documentation says review markup on the Organization and LocalBusiness types is supported only for sites that capture reviews about other organizations, or other local businesses, and it points to separate guidelines about self-serving reviews.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
In plain terms, reviews of your own business, marked up on your own site, aren't what that markup is for. Several plugins here mention schema, rich reviews or star ratings in search results, and the markup itself does no harm. What it won't do is turn your own testimonials into stars next to your business in Google. Choose a review plugin for what it shows visitors on your site.
Two checks before you install
Site Reviews, which collects and shows reviews with WooCommerce and SureCart integration, needs PHP 8.1.2, the highest requirement on this list, so check your host's PHP version first. And if you're pulling reviews in from elsewhere, read how the plugin connects: the two Google review plugins say they need no API key, while the Facebook slider says it uses the official Facebook API and X API v2 and saves reviews locally.
Two Google review plugins, side by side
Rich Showcase for Google Reviews and Reviews Feed both show Google reviews, and both had 100,000+ active installs as of Oct 2026. The difference is in the ratings: 98/100 from 1,623 for the first, against 86/100 from just 36 for the second, which also covers Yelp.
A rating built on a few dozen reviews can move a long way with a handful more, so weigh how many people rated a plugin as well as the score. Neither number is a fault on its own, but read both before you build your review pages around any plugin.

My plain advice on review plugins
Decide first whether you need to collect new reviews or show the ones you've already earned, and choose from the right group. Put reviews where people decide to buy, and don't count on schema from a plugin to turn your own testimonials into stars in Google.
If you're a local business, my guide on how reviews help your local map rankings covers the reviews that count there.

Frequently asked questions
What does a WordPress review plugin do?
It either collects reviews from customers on your site, displays reviews from platforms such as Google, Facebook or Yelp, or adds review boxes to posts you write. A few do more than one of those.
Can a review plugin get star ratings for my business in Google?
Don't count on it. Google supports review markup on Organization and LocalBusiness types only for sites that capture reviews about other businesses, with separate guidelines on self-serving reviews.
How do I show my Google reviews on WordPress?
Use a display plugin rather than a collection plugin. Two plugins here say they show Google reviews without an API key or sign-in.
Can a review plugin ask customers for reviews?
Some can. The WooCommerce collection plugins here send review reminders after a purchase, and one of them also sends coupon emails.
Are WordPress review plugins free?
All ten here are free plugins in the WordPress.org plugin directory, as of Oct 2026.
