How to See Duets on TikTok (Including Duets of Your Own Videos)

To see the Duets people have made with your videos on TikTok, go to Profile, the Menu button, Settings and privacy, Privacy, Reuse of content, then Reuse of content history. Pick a video there to see the Duets linked to it. You won't find them on your own profile, because TikTok says a Duet only appears on the profile of the person who recorded it.

People ask this for two different reasons. Some want to see who's dueted their video, usually because it's taken off. Others want to watch the Duets someone else has posted. TikTok handles the two in different places, so I'll take them one at a time.

Where TikTok puts Duets (and where it doesn't)

A Duet is your video playing side by side with someone else's, in a split screen. TikTok's help is clear about who owns what:

VideoWhere it shows
Your original videoOnly on your profile
A Duet someone made with your videoOnly on the profile of the person who recorded the Duet
Your Duet of someone else's videoOn your profile, or your Story if you posted it there

So if you're looking at your own profile and wondering where all the Duets went, they were never there. They live on the dueting creator's profile, and in a list TikTok keeps for you in settings.

How to see Duets of your own videos

TikTok gives you two routes to the same list. The first one is through your privacy settings:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. Tap the Menu button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
  3. Tap Privacy, then tap Reuse of content.
  4. Tap Reuse of content history.
  5. Select the video you want to check.

The second route goes through the activity centre: Profile, the Menu button, Settings and privacy, Activity centre, then Reuse of content history. Choose the video and tap the More options button next to it.

The list is called reuse of content because it covers more than Duets. TikTok groups Duets and Stitches together here, so you'll see both kinds of reuse in one place.

Careful: the delete option here removes your original too

This is the bit I'd want someone to tell me before I tapped anything. Inside Reuse of content history, the More options menu has a Remove all posts button. TikTok says that permanently removes your original post along with every Duet and Stitch linked to it.

  • It's permanent. There's no undo.
  • It takes your own video down, not just the Duets.
  • If there are more than 10 posts linked to it, TikTok may ask you to verify that the account belongs to you.

If you want to keep your original, TikTok suggests downloading a copy to your device first. And if it's just one Duet that bothers you because it breaks the rules or invades your privacy, report that single Duet instead. TikTok has an online form for privacy complaints about an individual Duet.

How to see Duets other people have posted

Because a Duet only lives on the profile of the person who recorded it, the way to watch someone's Duets is to go to their profile and look through their posts. The Duet will play there with both videos side by side. If you're not allowed to see that person's videos, you won't see their Duets either, because TikTok says the dueting person's own privacy settings decide who can watch, comment on, download or interact with the Duet.

Why you might not see any Duets of a video

If a video has no Duets at all, it might not be a popularity thing. TikTok says not all videos have Duet turned on, and there are a few settings that block Duets before they happen:

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  • The account is private. You must have a public account to let others Duet your videos.
  • Duet is limited to friends. Creators can choose Everyone, or Friends, which TikTok defines as followers you follow back.
  • Duet is off for that post. The Allow reuse of content setting can be switched off before posting or later from the video's privacy settings.
  • The Duets were removed. The creator may have cleared them from Reuse of content history.

Turning Duet off also affects Stitch, stickers made from your posts, and people adding your post to their Story, so it's a bigger switch than it looks. I've covered the creator side, including how to turn Duet on or off, in my guide on how to duet on TikTok.

Why this list is useful for a small business

If you post on TikTok for your business, Duets of your videos are free feedback. Someone reacting to your product demo or recipe in a Duet is telling you what landed. I'd check Reuse of content history every week or two for any video that's doing well, look at who's dueting it, and reply or follow back where it makes sense. If you'd rather make the Duet yourself from a video you've saved, here's how to duet a saved TikTok video.

My advice

Head to Reuse of content history to see Duets of your videos, and visit the creator's profile to watch Duets they've posted. Just keep your thumb well away from Remove all posts unless you're ready to lose the original as well.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see who dueted my TikTok?

Go to Profile, the Menu button, Settings and privacy, Privacy, Reuse of content, then Reuse of content history, and select the video. TikTok lists the Duets and Stitches linked to it there.

Why can't I see Duets on my TikTok profile?

Because TikTok only shows a Duet on the profile of the person who recorded it. Your original video stays on your profile, and the Duets of it are listed in Reuse of content history.

Can I delete a Duet someone made of my video?

You can remove Duets from Reuse of content history, but TikTok says Remove all posts permanently deletes your original post and every Duet and Stitch linked to it. Download your video first if you want to keep it.

Why can't anyone Duet my TikTok videos?

You need a public account, and the Allow reuse of content setting needs to be on for that video. If you've limited Duet to Friends, only followers you follow back can Duet you.
