AI review response tools draft replies to customer reviews on Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and other sites, matching the tone you choose and handling positive and negative reviews alike. Some are free one-off generators, some are browser extensions, and some are full review management platforms that also collect and track reviews. Nine options follow in no particular order.
A review without a reply looks like nobody's listening. A rushed reply to an angry one can look worse.
These nine tools help you answer every review quickly, in a voice that sounds like you. They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the vendor's own website, read this week. Replies also help locally: my piece on how reviews help your local map rankings explains why.
AI review response tools at a glance
I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site names a free plan, a free version, a free account, a free edition, a free tool or an open source release. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to try it, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

What the CMA treats as banned review content
The Competition and Markets Authority's short guide for businesses names fake reviews, concealed incentivised reviews and false or misleading review information as banned content, and says traders who publish reviews must take reasonable and proportionate steps to prevent and remove it.
Replying to reviews is good practice and nothing in that guide stops you. What does cross the line is offering a discount or freebie for a review without making it clear, or quietly hiding the bad ones. Let AI help with the replies, and keep the reviews themselves honest.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
One-off generator, extension or review platform?
A one-off generator is perfect if you get a handful of reviews a week: paste, pick a tone, edit, post.
A browser extension sits on your Google Business Profile and drafts replies where you're already working.
A review platform pulls in every review site and location, drafts replies at scale and helps you ask for more reviews, which suits busy or multi-site businesses.
Questions to ask before AI replies to your customers
- Can you set and save your brand's tone of voice?
- Does it handle negative reviews carefully, without arguing?
- Can you approve each reply before it's posted?
- Which review sites does it connect to?
- Does it personalise replies, or repeat the same lines?
- Can it alert you when a review needs a human?
Signs your reviews need AI help
- Reviews sit unanswered for weeks. Draft replies instantly.
- Every reply says the same thing. Personalise each one.
- Bad reviews spark angry replies. Start from a calm draft.
- Several locations, one inbox. Bring reviews together.

My plain advice on AI review replies
Let AI draft, but never let it post a reply to a one-star review without you reading it first. Upset customers can tell a template from a person. Thank them by name, mention the specific problem, say what you'll do, and take the rest of the conversation offline.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI review response tool?
It's software that drafts replies to customer reviews on sites like Google, Yelp and TripAdvisor, in the tone you choose.
Is there a free AI review response generator?
Yes, some tools draft replies free with no sign-up, and others offer free trials. Check the free plan column above and confirm on each vendor's site.
Should I reply to every review?
Replying to every review, good or bad, shows customers you're listening. Short, personal thanks work for positive ones.
How should I reply to a negative review?
Thank them, acknowledge the specific issue, explain what you'll do, and offer a way to talk directly. Don't argue in public.
Can AI reply to reviews automatically?
Some platforms can post replies automatically. For negative reviews, it's safer to approve every reply yourself.
Can I offer customers something in return for a review?
In the UK, the CMA treats concealed incentivised reviews as banned content, so make any incentive clear and never reward only positive reviews.
