Hostinger suits people running a handful of small sites, because its Premium plan hosts 3 websites and comes with an AI website builder and WordPress tools. GoDaddy suits people who want cPanel, automatic daily backups on every hosting plan and support by phone, chat or SMS, but its Economy plan hosts 1 website. Count your sites and decide how much you care about backups, and the choice gets easy.
Web hosting pages are crowded with countdown timers and percentage banners, which makes it hard to see what you're getting. So I ignored the banners and read the plan details on Hostinger's web hosting page and GoDaddy's web hosting page side by side. Everything below comes from those two pages.
Plan by plan, side by side
| Hostinger | GoDaddy | |
|---|---|---|
| Starter hosting plan on the page | Premium | Economy |
| Websites on that plan | 3 | 1 |
| Storage on that plan | 20 GB SSD | 25 GB NVMe |
| Backups on that plan | Weekly | Automatic daily (every Web Hosting plan) |
| Control panel named | Not named on the pages I read | cPanel |
| Domain | Free for 1 year | Free domain (with conditions marked on the page) |
| 2 mailboxes per website, free for 1 year | Free email | |
| Website builder | AI Builder included | Separate GoDaddy website builder |
| Support | 24/7 expert support | 24/7 by phone, chat and SMS |
| Bigger plans | Unlimited (unlimited sites, daily backups), Cloud Startup | Deluxe (10 sites), Ultimate (25 sites) |
What Hostinger puts in the box
Hostinger describes Premium as great for creators and small brands. You get 3 websites, 20 GB of SSD storage, a CDN, ecommerce, and a choice of building with its AI Builder, WordPress or Node.js. Each website gets 2 mailboxes, free for the first year, and the domain is free for the first year too.
- Unlimited moves you to unlimited websites and mailboxes, 50 GB of NVMe storage and daily backups with easy restore.
- Cloud Startup is pitched at agencies and busy sites, with 100 GB of NVMe storage and daily plus on-demand backups.
- WordPress.org lists Hostinger as a recommended host, which Hostinger shows on the page.
- There's a Hostinger connector so Cursor, Claude or any MCP client can talk to your hosting.
What GoDaddy puts in the box
GoDaddy's Economy plan hosts 1 website with 25 GB of NVMe storage, cPanel, Node.js, a free domain, free email and an SSL certificate. Deluxe raises that to 10 websites and Ultimate to 25. There's also a separate Hosting for WordPress line that comes with WordPress pre-installed, automatic core updates and a migration tool.
The part I'd point a nervous first-timer to is the list GoDaddy says comes with every Web Hosting plan: a 99.9% uptime guarantee, unmetered bandwidth, automatic daily backups, data centres in North America and Europe, and site security with a firewall, CDN and daily malware scanning.
The backup detail that's easy to miss
Hostinger's Premium plan lists weekly backups. Daily backups only appear when you move up to Unlimited. GoDaddy lists automatic daily backups on every Web Hosting plan, including Economy. If you edit your site most days or take bookings through it, a week between backups is a long time to lose. That one line is worth more than any storage number on either page.
The site count cuts the other way. If you run a main site plus a couple of small ones, Hostinger's Premium plan already covers 3, while GoDaddy's Economy plan covers 1 and you'd need Deluxe for more.
Who each host is built for
Hostinger fits makers who want an AI builder, WordPress and a few small sites under one roof, and who are happy with weekly backups or will move up a plan. GoDaddy fits owners who want a familiar control panel, a daily safety net from day one and someone to ring when things go wrong. If you're still weighing builders against hosting, my guide to the website builder features that matter will help, and so will this round-up of free AI website builders for beginners.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
My advice before you sign up
Write down how many sites you'll run over the coming months and how often you change them. One busy site you update daily points to GoDaddy, because daily backups are there from the start. Two or three quieter sites point to Hostinger's Premium plan. Whichever you pick, set up your own backup routine too, because a host's backups are a safety net, not a plan.
