An AI automation consultant finds the repeatable work that eats your team's week (enquiries, follow-up, admin, reporting, content), builds AI workflows that do it inside the tools you already use, and hands them over so you own them. I am Lilach Bullock, an AI implementation consultant with 23 years in marketing, and this is how I do it: one automation proven and left running before the next one starts. If you want to hire someone to set up AI automations for your small business, that's the job, and it comes with experience: I built, scaled, and sold a digital marketing agency and have partnered with Twitter, Dropbox, IBM, monday.com, and Greenpeace.
TL;DR
If your business has repeatable process and a team that is too busy to improve it, an AI automation consultant is the fastest way to get hours back without hiring. I work remotely with owners and small teams in the UK, US, Australia and Israel, and I build the automations with you rather than selling you a platform.
What does an AI automation consultant do for a small business?
The job is not "AI strategy" and it is not software development. It sits in the middle. I audit where your time goes, pick the workflows where AI removes the most manual work with the least risk, build them, test them on live work, and train your team to run and adjust them. Typical builds: enquiry triage that drafts the reply within minutes, proposal and quote drafting from a call note, client onboarding that runs itself, weekly reporting that pulls from your systems, and content production that keeps publishing without a producer.
How the work runs
Weeks 1 to 2: measure. I map every repeatable task, who does it, how long it takes and what breaks when it is late. That gives us a number of hours per week and a shortlist ranked by payback.
Weeks 3 to 8: build. Two or three automations, built inside the tools you already pay for, tested against real enquiries and real documents, with guardrails so nothing goes to a customer unreviewed until you trust it.
Weeks 9 to 12: hand over. Documentation, training, and a monthly check so the workflows keep working when I step back. You own everything.
Which businesses should hire an AI automation consultant?
Owner-led businesses and small teams: professional services, agencies, e-commerce, trades and construction, coaches and consultants, SaaS. The common thread is repeatable process and follow-up that a person is currently doing by hand. If you are a large enterprise with an internal data team, you need a different kind of help.
What it is not
It is not a subscription to a chatbot, and it is not a pitch for a platform. I do not resell tools and I do not link to vendors. Where an existing tool of yours can do the job, we use it.
Where I work
Remotely, everywhere. I have city guides for businesses in the UK, Australia and Israel, and the process is the same wherever you are. If you want a senior AI lead on a part-time basis rather than a project, see fractional AI officer. For pricing, read how AI consulting is priced or book a call.
For the country-wide version of this service, see AI consultant UK: the same 90-day process, wherever in the UK you are.

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Your sector is probably covered: what to automate first, by industry.

Frequently asked questions
What does an AI automation consultant do?
An AI automation consultant finds the repeatable work in your business, such as enquiries, follow-up, admin, reporting and content, then builds AI workflows that do it inside the tools you already use, tests them, and hands them to your team.
How is an AI automation consultant different from an AI agency?
An agency sells you a build and a retainer. A consultant works with you on the two or three automations that pay first, builds them with you, and leaves you owning them. You pay for outcomes, not headcount.
How long does an AI automation project take?
Most first projects run 6 to 12 weeks: two weeks to find and measure the hours, four to six to build and test, and two to hand over and train.
Do I need technical staff for this?
No. The automations are built on tools your team already uses, with documentation and training so a non-technical owner can run them.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Every engagement is remote, so you get senior help wherever you are, on a working day that overlaps with yours.
