YouTube doesn't publish a Moroccan rate: your earnings per 1,000 views are your own RPM, which depends on your audience's countries, language, niche and video length. Morocco is fully inside the YouTube Partner Program, and Google can pay Moroccan creators by EFT in dirhams once their balance reaches 800 dirhams.
Moroccan creators get something creators in Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia don't: Google can pay them in their own currency, straight into a local bank. That's worth knowing before you even think about rates. As for the rate itself, I'll be upfront. YouTube doesn't publish what it pays per 1,000 views in Morocco, so I'm not going to invent a dirham figure. Here's what Google does document, and how to work out your own number.
Paid in dirhams: YouTube payouts in Morocco
Google's payment methods table gives AdSense for YouTube accounts in Morocco three options: cheque, EFT and wire transfer. Only Hyperwallet is missing. EFT is the one I'd look at first, because Google pays it in Moroccan dirhams (MAD) directly into your bank, after you confirm a small test deposit.
Morocco also has its own row in Google's AdSense threshold table, something the Ugandan shilling, Tanzanian shilling and Ethiopian birr don't have:
| Threshold for MAD accounts | Amount on Google's table |
|---|---|
| Choose a payment method | 80 dirhams |
| Payment released | 800 dirhams |
| Cancellation | 80 dirhams |
| Address verification | 10 US dollars or the local equivalent |
So once your balance passes 800 dirhams and nothing's on hold, you're paid. Below that, it rolls forward. One extra point for context: Wikipedia notes the dirham, issued by Bank Al-Maghrib, still isn't freely convertible on world financial markets, which is one reason receiving a local-currency deposit is handy. Your bank can tell you how incoming foreign payments are handled.
Morocco's YouTube Partner Program status
Morocco is on YouTube's Partner Program availability list and on the expanded programme list. That gives Moroccan creators two stages:
- Expanded tier, for fan funding: 500 subscribers and 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days, plus 3,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months or 3 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
- Full tier, for ad revenue: 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
You'll link one active AdSense for YouTube account, created from inside YouTube Studio.
Why your Moroccan RPM won't match anyone else's
RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube's revenue share, and it counts all views, including ones without an ad. CPM is the advertiser's cost per 1000 ad impressions before the split. Google says CPM shifts with the time of year, the geography of your viewers and the ad formats available.
Moroccan creators often have an unusually mixed audience. A channel in Darija might be watched across Morocco and by Moroccans in France, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. A French-language channel can reach francophone viewers in Europe and Africa, and Arabic content can travel across the Gulf. Each of those audiences carries different advertiser demand, so the same view count can pay very differently.
Moves that tend to help Moroccan channels
- Know where your viewers are: check the geography report in YouTube Analytics before deciding which language to lead with.
- Make longer videos that hold attention, so they can carry more ads.
- Choose topics close to spending decisions, such as tech, cars, cooking equipment, education or property.
- Keep content advertiser-friendly, because unmonetised views pull your RPM down.
- Read your RPM in the Revenue tab monthly and compare your own videos, not other channels.
US withholding and Morocco's tax treaty
Morocco appears on the IRS list of countries with a US income tax treaty. That's relevant because YouTube withholds US tax only on earnings from viewers in the United States, at a rate between 0 and 30% depending on treaty status, once you've submitted tax info.
If you don't submit it, an individual account can see 24% of total worldwide earnings withheld. Tax info is due by Dec. 10 each year, according to YouTube. For Moroccan income tax on your earnings, please speak to a local accountant; I can only tell you what the platform documents.

Shorts and fan funding in Morocco
Shorts work through a monthly pool of Shorts Feed ad revenue, shared out by engaged views in each country. Monetising creators keep 45% of what's allocated to them, and music use doesn't change that share. Treat Shorts as a way to find new viewers and send them to your longer videos.
Super Chat and Super Stickers, channel memberships and YouTube Premium are all available in Morocco. Live streams around football, gaming or Q&A sessions can earn well when fans join in. Morocco isn't on the YouTube Shopping affiliate list, so product commission through YouTube isn't an option, but direct brand deals with Moroccan and international brands are.
For comparison, here's how YouTube pays Ugandan creators, where payouts go by wire or cheque instead, and what changes for creators in Malaysia. If you're planning content around search, these YouTube SEO tutorials are a good model.
