Where Is X (Twitter) Headquarters? The Official Address in 2026

X (Twitter) is headquartered in Austin, Texas. X's own Terms of Service, effective 9 October 2026, give X Corp.'s principal place of business as 800 W Cesar Chavez St., Austin, TX 78701, USA. If you live in the European Union, the EFTA States or the UK, though, the company you deal with is X Internet Unlimited Company in Dublin, Ireland.

The cleanest way to answer where the Twitter HQ is now is to read what X itself writes in the contracts every user agrees to, rather than an old directory listing. Here's what those pages say, and why the address matters more than you'd think.

X's official addresses, from its own legal pages

CompanyWhat it does for XAddress X gives
X Corp.Provides X to users in the US and everywhere outside the EU, EFTA States and UK; the data controller for those users800 W Cesar Chavez St., Austin, TX 78701, USA
X Internet Unlimited CompanyIrish company that provides X to users in the EU, EFTA States and UK; their data controllerOne Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 AX07, Ireland
X Global LLCContracting company for paid services in places such as Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and non-EU Europe112 North Curry Street, Carson City, NV 89703, USA
X Switzerland GmbHX's appointed privacy representative for people in Switzerlandc/o Wasag Treuhand AG, Normannenstrasse 8, Postfach 783, 3018 Bern, Switzerland

The Irish company's details are spelled out in the European version of the Terms: company number 503351 and VAT number IE9803175Q. That's useful if you ever need to name the right company in a complaint or an invoice query.

Where X Corp. is based, and what that means for you

The Austin address isn't just a mailing label. For anyone outside the EU, EFTA States and UK, X's Terms say any dispute with X must be brought in the federal or state courts in Wichita County or Tarrant County, Texas, under Texas law. If that court clause is ever found unenforceable, the dispute goes to binding arbitration in Tarrant County instead.

The same Austin address appears three times in X's legal pages, which is a good sign it's current:

  1. As X Corp.'s principal place of business in the Terms of Service.
  2. As the address of X's designated copyright agent, alongside the email [email protected].
  3. As the address for privacy questions in the Privacy Policy, marked Attn: Privacy Policy Inquiry.

Where X is based if you're in Europe or the UK

If you live in the EU, an EFTA State or the UK, your contract isn't with the Texas company at all. The European version of the Terms is an agreement with X Internet Unlimited Company in Dublin, disputes go to a competent court in Ireland under Irish law, and the Irish Data Protection Commission is X's lead privacy regulator.

X's Terms add one protection here: choosing Irish law doesn't take away the consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you normally live.

Who owns X? What the Terms reveal

X's legal pages don't set out an ownership chart, but the October 2026 Terms drop a clue. The Texas court and arbitration clause also covers X's U.S. corporate affiliates, and the Terms name them as including any U.S. SpaceXAI, Cursor or SpaceX entities. In plain English, X treats those companies as part of its corporate family for disputes.

The Privacy Policy also warns that X may share, sell or transfer user information in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, sale of assets or bankruptcy, and that the policy keeps applying to your data after any such deal.

Can you visit or phone X headquarters?

None of X's legal pages invites visitors or lists a phone number. They give postal addresses for letters, help forms for account problems and one email for copyright. If you need X to act on something, the Help Center forms are the route X itself points to for account problems.

How to write to X Corp. by post

If you do need to send a letter, for example a formal privacy request or a legal notice, make it easy for X to route:

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  1. Pick the right company for where you live: X Corp. in Austin, or X Internet Unlimited Company in Dublin for the EU, EFTA States and UK.
  2. Add the attention line X uses for that topic, such as Attn: Privacy Policy Inquiry or Attn: Copyright Agent.
  3. Include your @username and the email address on your account, because X verifies identity before it acts on data requests.
  4. Keep a dated copy and use a tracked service, so you can prove when X received it.

For what the policy says about your data, read what X's privacy policy says.

Why the name on your contract matters

It sounds like trivia until something goes wrong. Knowing which X company you deal with tells you:

  • Which courts hear a dispute. Texas for most of the world, Ireland for the EU, EFTA States and UK.
  • Who answers privacy requests. X Corp. or the Dublin company, depending on where you live.
  • Who you paid. Paid services in the Americas are sold by X Corp., while X Global LLC handles many other regions outside Europe.

If you're still getting used to the rebrand itself, my piece on whether Twitter is still called Twitter covers the naming side, and the history of the Twitter logo shows how the brand changed on screen.

My verdict

For a quick answer, X headquarters is in Austin, Texas, at 800 W Cesar Chavez St. For anything that matters, like a legal letter, a privacy request or a complaint, check where you live first: Europe and the UK deal with the Dublin company, and the rest of the world deals with Texas. Write to the address X publishes for your exact issue, keep a copy, and don't rely on old Twitter addresses you find in out-of-date articles.
