Wix Harmony: What It Is, How It Differs From the Wix Editor and What You Can't Undo

Wix Harmony is Wix's newest website builder, a hybrid editor released in January 2026 that mixes drag-and-drop editing with an AI agent called Aria. You can build by hand, ask Aria to build or change things for you, or switch between the two on the same site.

Here's the part to know before you start. The choice of editor is one way. Wix says a site created in Wix Harmony can't be moved to the Wix Editor or the Studio Editor, and an existing Wix Editor site can't be migrated into Harmony either. If you change your mind, you build a new site and reassign your Premium plan and domain to it. And if you create a site with AI, you can't switch it to a regular template later.

Wix Harmony or the Wix Editor: how to tell them apart

Both editors are available, and Wix has a whole help page on spotting which one you're in. As of October 2026, these are the differences it describes.

Your visitors won't know which editor you used; what they see depends on your design choices. If you're comparing it with the classic builder, my Wix Editor guide covers that one, and teams who need more design control can look at Wix Studio.

What's still missing from Harmony

Wix says most apps and elements are available, but as of October 2026 it's still working on bringing these across: CMS, Wix Donations, Wix Hotels, Wix Music, Wix Multilingual and Wix Referral Programs, plus the accordion, audio player, tabs, text mask, glass effect and hover state customisation. If your site depends on a multilingual setup or a CMS, that's a reason to wait or stay where you are.

Building a site with Aria

Aria can design a site from your description, write text, generate images, build pages and help with settings, SEO and apps. Wix's own warning is plain: Aria may produce unexpected or inaccurate results, so review every suggestion before you finalise the site. These are the steps for an AI-built site.

  1. Log in to your Wix account, click Create New Site and select Wix Harmony Editor.
  2. Click Let's Go and answer Aria's questions. As you reply, Aria fills in your Site Profile.
  3. Tick the suggested apps you want, click Continue, then pick a domain or click Skip for now.
  4. Go to the dashboard and click Design Site at the top right of the Home page.
  5. Review the description Aria wrote, add details such as your colours, style and audience, and click Generate Site.
  6. Aria builds the pages, layouts, colours and starter content, and a live preview opens in the editor for you to refine.

There's also a Create from URL option. You give Aria the address of an existing website, and it scans the structure, content and visual style to generate a new Harmony site. It can bring across pages, text, images, links, colours and public store product data. The original site isn't changed, and you need to stay on that browser tab while Aria works, or the process may be interrupted.

Brand, pages and mobile

The Brand panel holds your colour palette, text styles and the styling for buttons, lines and container boxes. Wix generates a palette when you create the site, with base colours split into 3 shades plus accent colours, and the text set has 6 headings and 3 paragraph styles. Change the brand and every branded element updates across the site.

Pages are designed for a desktop width of 1280 pixels and a mobile width of 390 pixels, and you can't set a custom width. On mobile, you can resize, recolour, hide or add mobile-only elements without touching desktop, but you can't move elements between sections or containers there; that's desktop only. Most header elements move into the hamburger menu on mobile, leaving only the cart icon and logo. One more trap: deleting a page that's linked to a Wix app, such as Blog or Stores, also removes the app.

SEO, publishing and working together

Harmony has a step-by-step SEO checklist. You enter your business details, set 3 to 5 SEO topics that guide its AI keyword research, then work through each page's tasks, such as a focus keyword, title tag and meta description, by hand or with Optimize With AI. If you change a page URL, set up a 301 redirect, or anyone with the old link gets a 404 page. My Wix SEO walkthrough goes further.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Your work autosaves, but saved changes stay private until you click Publish. You can restore an older version or unpublish at any time. For teams, collaborators edit in real time, and a green frame shows that someone else is working on an element. If 2 people edit the same element, only some changes from each may be saved, so don't click a framed element until they're done.

My verdict on Wix Harmony

I'd start a new site in Wix Harmony if you're a small business owner who wants AI to do the first draft and you're happy to refine by hand, because Aria and the automatic mobile layout save hours. I'd skip it for now if you need multilingual pages, the CMS or any of the missing apps, because you can't move the site to another editor later. Either way, check every AI-written line before you publish; Wix itself says Aria can get things wrong.

Wix Harmony shows where small business tools are heading: AI drafts, and people check and decide. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.

Frequently asked questions

What is Wix Harmony?

Wix Harmony is a hybrid website editor from Wix that combines drag-and-drop editing with an AI agent called Aria. It was released in January 2026.

Can I move my Wix Editor site to Wix Harmony?

No. Wix says it's not currently possible to migrate an existing Wix Editor site to Wix Harmony, and a Harmony site can't be moved to the Wix Editor or Studio Editor.

Is Wix Harmony mobile friendly?

Yes. Harmony sites are automatically responsive. You design on desktop and the changes flow to mobile, and you can still fine-tune the mobile view.

Which apps aren't available in Wix Harmony yet?

As of October 2026, Wix lists CMS, Wix Donations, Wix Hotels, Wix Music, Wix Multilingual and Wix Referral Programs as apps it's still bringing into Harmony.

Can I trust what Aria creates?

Review it first. Wix says Aria may produce unexpected or inaccurate results, so always check its suggestions or changes before you finalise your site.
