A virtual assistant company in the Philippines recruits, trains and manages Filipino assistants for businesses abroad, so you can hire offshore help without running the recruitment yourself. Many specialise by industry, such as real estate or ecommerce, or by client market, such as Australia. This page compares nine agencies in no particular order, with what to agree before your first hire.
The Philippines is one of the most popular places in the world to hire a virtual assistant, and it's easy to see why: strong English, a big pool of experienced assistants and working hours that can match the US, UK or Australia.
Going through an agency takes the guesswork out of recruiting and gives you someone to call if things go wrong. The nine agencies below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the company's own website, read this week. If you're also weighing other regions, my piece on Latin American virtual assistants covers the main alternative.
Philippines VA agencies at a glance
I checked the last column on each company's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site names a free trial, consultation, assessment or call before you commit. Not stated means the pages I read didn't name one. Offers change often, so confirm on the company's own page before you book.

Your customers' data stays your responsibility
The National Privacy Commission publishes the Philippines' Data Privacy Act, and Section 21 says each personal information controller is responsible for personal information under its control or custody, including information transferred to a third party for processing, whether domestically or internationally.
In plain terms, giving an offshore assistant access to your customer list doesn't hand over the responsibility for it. Your own country's data rules still apply to you, and the agency has duties under Philippine law too. So put data handling in the contract: who can see what, which devices they use, how passwords are shared and what happens to your data when the assistant leaves.

Staff leasing, managed VA or direct hire support?
Staff leasing gives you a full-time team member who works from the agency's office, with the agency handling HR, equipment and compliance. It suits businesses building a permanent offshore team.
A managed VA service matches you with an assistant and stays involved with training and support. It's the easiest route for a first hire.
Some agencies only recruit and then step back. That can work if you're confident managing remote staff yourself, but you'll handle more of the day-to-day.
Six questions to ask a Philippines VA agency
- Do assistants work from an office or from home?
- Which hours will my assistant work in my time zone?
- How do you handle internet or power outages?
- What training does the assistant get before starting?
- Who handles holidays, sick days and cover?
- How is my customer data protected?
Signs an agency isn't the right partner
- No answer on outages. Ask for the backup plan.
- Vague on hours. Get them in writing.
- No data terms in the contract. Add them.
- They can't explain their vetting. Keep looking.

My plain advice before hiring a Filipino virtual assistant
Ask for a short test task, or a trial week, before committing to a long contract, and judge the result against a written brief. Then agree the working hours, the backup plan for outages and the data rules on day one. Most offshore hires that fail do so because of unclear expectations, not because of the assistant.

Frequently asked questions
Why hire a virtual assistant from the Philippines?
Many businesses choose the Philippines for strong English, a large pool of experienced assistants and flexible working hours.
Is it better to use an agency or hire direct?
An agency handles recruitment, training and backup cover. Hiring direct gives more control but more admin.
Can a Filipino VA work my business hours?
Many agencies offer assistants who work US, UK or Australian hours. Agree the hours in writing.
What can a Philippines virtual assistant do?
Common roles include admin, customer support, real estate support, bookkeeping, marketing and ecommerce tasks.
How do I protect customer data with an offshore VA?
Put data handling in the contract and limit access. The Philippines' Data Privacy Act also places duties on the agency.
Do Philippine VA agencies work with Australian businesses?
Yes, several are built for Australian clients and match assistants to Australian working hours.
