strategies for corporate training for digital companies

Digital companies are the ones that add value for their customers using digital technology. This value addition happens all across the company at levels and departments. Digital solutions are needed across all industries. Digital companies are being incorporated every day due to the rising demand for their services.

Naturally, there is a demand for training in digital companies as well. The LMS such as Litmos caters to these demands well. Intricate strategies are required to be adopted by these digital organizations, such as-

  • Individualized training paths-

Every trainee is different and requires varied training in the areas they lack. If the same training is provided to all the users, it is a wastage of resources. Also, it affects their on-the-job performance and also productivity. Thus, individualized training paths are required to strengthen the weaknesses of the trainees while maintaining their strengths.

  • Personalised Performance management-

Individualized training paths entail personalized performance management too. The performances of the trainees need to be recorded, measured, and analyzed to bring forth the insights required to manage them. The weaker skillset needs more work and the stronger one needs to be maintained. Performance management just makes it quantifiable and easier to make the decisions based on that. By doing this we can minimize on-the-job errors and make trainees equipped to handle if things go awry.

  • Onboarding according to employees-

Every stage of the employee cycle, from hiring them, clocking them on their first day, training them for the required skillset and continual skill building should be taken into account for choosing an LMS. Ideally, it should cater to all the stages of the employee cycle. The newly recruited employees should be brought up to speed according to their peers, this can happen with the help of a good LMS.

  • Continuous employee support-

Online training is far from a one-time event, it is an ongoing process. And the trainees require continuous support all the while it is going on. The skillset of the employees is changing all the while they are being honed or a new skill is being added to the repertoire. The ongoing support whenever they need it, in the form of built-in libraries. Video conferencing tools so that trainees can get one on one support if they need it.

  • Built-in feedback-

Only honing the skills might not do the trick. The improved skill set requires detailed feedback and a performance graph. This is required to make the employees aware of their improvement and get them motivated in the same stride. Also, sometimes the trainees can understand where they are lacking and sometimes they need somebody else pointing it out. An LMS can do that job without judgment and can prompt reflection and self-evaluation on the part of the employees.

  • Peer collaboration-

Man is a social animal. Even the star performer might need a helping hand. Thus, peer collaboration is much needed not only for mental health but also to perform better. For this purpose, better communication channels are required. More so, in the case of digital companies, where the exercise is to find digital solutions for problems. A good LMS perceives this gap and provides and strengthens peer-based communication for all.

  • Including Simulations-

Simulations are a very good solution to the problem of the application of learned skills to real-world situations. Also, not only can they tell you how to apply the learning to your job they can also guide you as to where you went wrong in the said application. This successfully helps in course correction as well.

Digital companies are striving to provide digital solutions and making our lives easier. But they need a modern approach to problem-solving as well for their training programs. A critical approach should be applied for corporate training to get better results.
