SiteGround vs Hostinger: Which Web Host Suits Your Site?

SiteGround suits small businesses that want daily backups kept for 30 days on every plan, with free email, CDN and site transfer included. Hostinger suits people who want room for several sites on the entry plan, with 3 websites, 20 GB of storage and an AI website builder on Premium, though Premium backs up weekly. Decide how often you need a backup, then compare the plans.

Web hosts love to talk about speed, but the questions that bite small businesses are usually about backups, email and how many sites you can run. I read SiteGround's web hosting page and Hostinger's web hosting page, and everything here comes from those two pages.

What SiteGround includes from StartUp up

SiteGround's page says every plan includes a free domain name, free website transfer, free daily backups and 24/7 expert support. The backups go back up to 30 days, and they're not just your website: they cover your emails and files too. You'll also get a free SSL certificate, a free CDN with every site and free email.

StartUp's aimed at personal projects and small sites, with 1 website, unmetered traffic and 10 GB of storage. GrowBig, for growing businesses, allows unlimited websites. On WordPress plans, SiteGround includes an AI agent you chat with to manage your site, plus SiteGround AI Studio.

Hostinger: more sites and AI builders

Hostinger's Premium plan is pitched at creators and small brands. It holds 3 websites with 20 GB of SSD storage, free weekly backups, a CDN, ecommerce, priority 24/7 support, and a domain and 2 mailboxes per site free for the first year. You can build with its AI Builder, WordPress or Node.js.

The Unlimited plan raises that to unlimited websites and mailboxes, 50 GB of NVMe storage and daily backups with easy restores. Hostinger also lists hosting for AI automation tools, including self-hosted n8n, and a connector that links your hosting to Cursor, Claude or any MCP client.

Daily or weekly: the backup gap that matters

Here's the line I'd read twice on Hostinger's page. Premium includes free weekly backups, and daily backups start on the Unlimited plan. If your site breaks on a Saturday and the last copy is from Monday, that's most of a week of orders, posts or form entries to rebuild.

SiteGround keeps a daily backup on every plan, going back 30 days, and includes your emails and files. For a shop or a busy blog, that difference can matter more than storage or the number of sites.

Who should host with SiteGround or Hostinger

SiteGround suits a single business website, especially on WordPress, where daily backups and free site transfer take the worry out of moving. Hostinger suits people running a few small sites, or building with AI tools, who are happy with weekly backups or who move up to Unlimited. For the bigger picture, see how to choose a hosting provider for your blog and the benefits of cloud hosting.

My advice before you move hosts

Ask yourself how much work you could stand to lose. If the answer is a day at most, SiteGround's daily backups on every plan, or Hostinger's Unlimited plan, are the ones to look at. If you've got several small sites you rarely update, Hostinger Premium gives you room for 3 of them. Whichever you choose, download a backup of your own before you switch, and keep it somewhere safe.
