The short version: the online communities most worth joining as a marketer in 2026 are the focused ones: Superpath for content, Email Geeks for email, The SEO Community or Traffic Think Tank for search, Exit Five for B2B and Indie Hackers if you're building your own thing. Below are 54 communities, Slack groups, forums and member networks, grouped by what you do, with how to get in. I checked every one live on 29 September 2026.

I've been in marketing since the dial-up days and the best things that ever happened to my business came out of communities. Clients, collaborations, speaking gigs, friends. But I've also joined plenty that were dead within a month. So I've kept this list to places with a working site and a clear way in today. I've left the links off on purpose; type the domain into your browser.

Facebook groups are a whole world of their own, so I've covered them separately: here's how to find Facebook groups for marketers and what niche groups can do for your marketing.

How to get value from a community without being that person

1. Lurk for a week. Read the rules and the pinned posts. Every community has its own tone and you want to match it.

2. Give before you ask. Answer three questions before you post one of your own. People remember who helped them.

3. Never drop a link in your first post. Nothing gets you muted faster. Share the useful bit in the post itself.

4. Pick two and show up. Ten communities you never visit do nothing for you. Two you turn up to every week will change your year.

5. Take conversations off-platform. When someone's a good fit, move it to email. That's where the work happens. If you're looking for other ways to get seen, my directory of newsletters that accept sponsors and free newsletter directories are good next steps.

Frequently asked questions

What's the best Slack community for marketers?

It depends on your job. Superpath is the one for content marketers, Email Geeks for email people, The SEO Community for SEOs and Measure Chat for analytics. Start with the one closest to your day job.

Are marketing communities free?

Many are free to join, especially the forums and tool communities. The private communities for senior people and some creator groups charge a membership. Check each site.

How do I find communities in my niche?

Ask the people you already follow where they hang out, check the footer of newsletters you read, and search a platform like Slack or Discord for your niche plus community.

Can I promote my business in these communities?

Only where the rules allow it. Most have a promo channel or thread. Outside that, be helpful and let people come to you.
