The right Okendo alternative depends on what you want reviews to do: sit neatly on product pages, push shoppers to add photos and video, or feed loyalty and referrals too. Before you switch, check the app imports your existing reviews with their photos, and that it handles verified buyers and incentives honestly.
Your reviews are an asset you've built one order at a time. That's the first thing to protect when you look at Okendo alternatives. A new widget that looks lovely is no use if three years of photo reviews arrive without their images or dates.

Who this is for
It's for Shopify store owners who collect product reviews with photos and ratings, and who either want more from Okendo or want less of it. You might run a small store with a few hundred products or a growing brand with a team. Either way, you're the one who'll live with the widget on every product page, so you're the right person to judge it.
Six questions that decide it
- Will it import your Okendo reviews with photos, ratings and dates intact?
- Does it mark verified buyers clearly on the review itself?
- How does it ask for photos and video: email, text message, or a page after checkout?
- Can you reply publicly, including to the critical reviews?
- Do you want reviews only, or reviews tied to loyalty and referrals?
- Does the widget slow your product pages or clash with your theme?
If you can only check one thing during a trial, make it the import. Ask the vendor to move a sample of your real reviews, then look at them on a live product page. Photos, star ratings and the reviewer's first name should all survive.
The second thing to check is how the app asks for a review. A request that lands a week after delivery, opens on a phone and lets the shopper add a photo in two taps will beat a long form every time. Look at the request email or text on your own phone before you commit, and ask whether you can change the timing for products that take longer to use, like skincare or clothing that needs a wash or two.
The nine apps, in no particular order
They're sorted A to Z, and each line paraphrases what the vendor says about its own app. You'll see three broad types: photo-first review apps, review platforms for customer and product feedback, and retention suites where reviews sit beside loyalty and referrals.
Feefo
Best for: Brands that want authentic customer and product reviews to help shoppers decide, backed by a dedicated review platform.
Fera
Best for: Store owners who want attractive product and store reviews, with photos and videos shown neatly on the site.
Growave
Best for: Shopify brands wanting reviews, loyalty, referrals, wishlists and Instagram UGC from a single retention app.
Junip
Best for: Mobile-first review requests, for brands who want shoppers to leave reviews easily and see them across storefront, search and social.
Loox
Best for: Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants who want to turn real customers into social proof with photo reviews.
REVIEWS.io
Best for: Teams wanting straightforward review collection on a monthly subscription with flexible plans.
Rivyo
Best for: Stores wanting product reviews, loyalty programmes and UGC together, with feedback collection.

Keep your reviews honest and easy to trust
The Competition and Markets Authority publishes guidance on GOV.UK for businesses, brands and their agencies on keeping online reviews and endorsements honest and transparent. Use it as a checklist when you open an app's settings: how does it confirm the reviewer bought the product, and how does it label a review that came with a discount or a reward? Shoppers notice when every review is five stars, and so do regulators.

If you're thinking about store-level reviews as well, these review platforms cover the whole business rather than single products, and my take on Shopify itself is worth a read if you're still weighing up the platform.

My advice if you're leaving Okendo
Decide what reviews are for in your store before you look at features. If it's product-page proof, pick a photo-first app. If it's repeat purchase, look at the suites with loyalty built in. Then insist on a test import, check the widget on mobile, and don't switch off Okendo until the new display is live and your review requests are sending.

Frequently asked questions
Can I move my Okendo reviews to another app?
Usually, yes. Most review apps accept an export file or offer a migration service. Check that photos and video come across as well as the text and stars, and look at the result on a live product page.
Do photo reviews help sales?
They give shoppers something written reviews can't: a look at the product in a real home or on a real person. That's why so many review apps push photo requests. Make the request easy on a phone and more customers will add one.
Is it OK to reward customers for leaving reviews?
It can be, but the review should be honest and clearly labelled as incentivised. The CMA's guidance on GOV.UK covers what businesses should do. Never reward only positive reviews.
Should I pick a review app with loyalty built in?
If you'd otherwise run separate loyalty and referral apps, a suite can save effort and keep customer data in one place. If reviews are all you want, a focused review app is often easier to set up.
