MuleSoft alternatives are integration platforms, often called iPaaS, that connect apps, data and APIs so systems share information without hand-built code. They range from enterprise suites for data and API work, through app integration specialists, to lighter no-code automation tools. Ten options follow in no particular order.
Here's the short version. If you're looking past MuleSoft, you're usually after one of two things: an enterprise platform that can take over a big estate of APIs and data flows, or something lighter that business teams can run themselves. Very few tools do both equally well.
The ten platforms below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from each vendor's own website, read as of Oct 2026.
MuleSoft alternatives at a glance
I checked the free plan column on each vendor's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the page names a free plan, a free version or an open source edition. Trial only means it names a time-limited free trial. Not stated means the page I read named neither, so check the vendor's own site before you sign up.

Two big names now share one owner
Here's what most comparisons miss. Informatica's home page title now adds the words from Salesforce, and MuleSoft belongs to Salesforce too, so swapping one for the other keeps you with the same parent company. MuleSoft's own page now leads with seeing and governing every agent, with agents built in Salesforce front and centre.
Elsewhere, Talend's page says it's now part of Qlik, and Boomi announces it has acquired Elementary Data for data quality. Two vendors also make big claims in their headlines: Workato and Celigo each call themselves the top-rated iPaaS. Those are their own words, so judge them on a trial.
Enterprise suite, app integration or no-code automation?
- Enterprise integration suites. Built for data integration, API management, EDI and governance at scale, often run by a central integration team. These are the like-for-like swap for a big MuleSoft estate.
- App integration specialists. Aimed at connecting business apps and automating processes across teams, with AI agents that build or fix flows in plain language.
- No-code automation. Lighter tools for connecting apps and automating workflows, closer to Zapier than to an enterprise service bus. One here connects to 3,500+ apps out of the box.
Questions for an iPaaS shortlist
- What are you integrating: apps, data pipelines or APIs? Each type of platform leans one way.
- Who'll build the flows? Developers, an integration team or business users need different tools.
- Do you need EDI or B2B? Several platforms here list B2B or EDI modules; others don't.
- How will you govern AI agents? Most vendors now pitch agent governance, so ask to see it working on your own flows.
- What's the migration path? Moving existing MuleSoft flows is the biggest job, so ask each vendor how they'd do it.
API gateways often sit alongside your integration layer. My guide to API management platforms covers that side.

My plain advice if you're leaving MuleSoft
Start by listing what your MuleSoft estate does today: APIs, data pipelines, app-to-app flows or EDI. If it's mostly APIs, an enterprise suite with an API manager is the closest match. If it's app-to-app flows for business teams, an app integration specialist will get you live faster. And if you only need a handful of simple automations, a no-code tool may be all you need. Whatever you pick, move one real flow end to end before you sign a long contract.
If data pipelines are the main job, my list of data integration tools goes deeper, and my guide to workflow automation tools covers the lighter end.

Frequently asked questions
What is iPaaS?
Integration platform as a service is cloud software that connects apps, data and APIs, so systems share information through managed flows instead of custom code.
Is there an open source alternative to MuleSoft?
Yes. One vendor on this list offers an open source API manager alongside its integration and identity products.
Is there a free MuleSoft alternative?
At the lighter end, yes. One no-code automation tool here has a free plan with no time limit, and several enterprise platforms name a free trial.
Which integration platforms does Salesforce own?
MuleSoft is part of Salesforce, and a second well-known data integration vendor now brands itself as from Salesforce on its home page.
How long does a MuleSoft migration take?
It depends on how many flows and APIs you run. Move one real flow end to end first, and you'll have a reliable estimate before planning the rest.
