Yes: Zimbabwe is on YouTube's Partner Program country list, though not on the expanded list, so the full 1,000 subscriber requirements apply. Google's payment table lists wire transfer as the only payout route, paid in US dollars.
Zimbabwean creators often assume YouTube monetisation is closed to them because so many guides skip the country. It isn't. Zimbabwe is on YouTube's list of Partner Program countries. What makes the Zimbabwe route different is the payment side: Google's table gives you one way to be paid, and it's not the one most guides describe.
The wire-only payment route for Zimbabwe
In Google's payment-method table, Zimbabwe is listed with wire transfer marked yes. Check is no. EFT is no. Hyperwallet is no. That's the same for AdSense and for AdSense for YouTube. Many countries get a check as a fallback, and Zimbabwe doesn't.
Google also says your bank must be in the same country as the address in your payments settings, and that you don't need to verify your account for wire transfers. So a Harare or Bulawayo address goes with a Zimbabwean bank account that can receive an international wire. Before you apply, ask your bank whether it accepts incoming international wires in US dollars, what it charges to receive one, and what details Google will need to send it. I can't answer those for you, because they differ by bank.
Eligibility: where Zimbabwe fits in the Partner Program
To join the YouTube Partner Program, you must live in a country or region where the programme is available, and Zimbabwe is on that list. Then the channel itself has to qualify: 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
There's also an expanded, earlier-access tier for smaller channels, with 500 subscribers, 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days and 3,000 qualified watch hours. Zimbabwe isn't on the expanded country list, so that earlier tier isn't open to you. The full thresholds apply.
Features Zimbabwean channels can't switch on
Channel memberships, Super Chat and Super Stickers aren't available in Zimbabwe, because the country is absent from both availability lists. For a small channel that removes the fan-funding income that creators elsewhere lean on. Ad revenue and brand deals do the work instead.
YouTube Premium is available in Zimbabwe, which helps because Premium revenue is part of the pool YouTube measures. Shorts monetisation follows YouTube's general rules: monetising creators keep 45% of their allocated revenue, and the Shorts Feed pool is shared by each creator's share of engaged views in each country.
Dollars, ZiG and what you'll see
The money will arrive in US dollars before your bank touches it, and Zimbabwe's currency picture is unusual. The Zimbabwe Gold, or ZiG, was introduced in 2024 by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. According to the reference I checked, the US dollar remains the most widely used currency alongside it. Ask your bank which currency account will receive the wire and what rate applies if it converts anything.
Tax: what YouTube documents for Zimbabwe-based creators
YouTube says creators outside the US who provide tax information have US withholding of between 0 and 30 percent on earnings from US viewers only, depending on whether their country has a tax treaty with the US. Without tax information an individual account has 24% of total earnings worldwide withheld. Zimbabwe has no entry on the IRS list of United States income tax treaties, so complete the tax form accurately and ask a Zimbabwean accountant about what else you owe locally.
Your route in, step by step
- Check your channel against the 1,000 subscriber requirement and either 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views.
- Apply when you qualify, and keep posting original content.
- Link AdSense and choose wire transfer as your payment method.
- Complete identity verification, then the PIN sent to your address, and tax information.
- Ask your bank about incoming wires before the first payment is issued.
The numbers help you plan, but they're the platform's minimums, not a promise of income. If you're building audience in more than one place, my guides to getting paid on TikTok in Zimbabwe and monetising a Facebook page in Zimbabwe cover the other big platforms. For the earnings side, read what YouTube pays once you're monetised.

Things that can hold a Zimbabwe payout up
A wire needs the receiving end to be ready. Typical snags are a bank account name that doesn't match the name on your payments profile, an address that hasn't been verified, missing tax information, and an account that Google has put under policy review. Fix what your Payments page flags before you chase anyone. Google also publishes a monthly cycle, so a change made too late simply rolls into the following payment.
Remember too that a country can be added to or dropped from these lists. YouTube's own help pages are the place to check the current position, because I'd rather you read the official list than rely on any article, including this one.
If you aren't at 1,000 subscribers yet
The route that doesn't wait on a threshold is direct brand deals, where a Zimbabwean business pays you for a video. They're easier to land when your channel clearly serves a local audience. Keep your uploads regular, and keep a record of everything you're paid.
